  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I can agree with a lot of what the prior poster has expressed. There are a couple other things that come to mind. How will Scout deal with initial market adjustments? They will only be able to fulfill reservations at certain rates. In a free market, the market will find ways to allow...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Well, I guess a headreast might be necessary on some rare occasion - but my dogs will not really care as long as they a wider seat and can nuzzle closer to me.

    Battery and Motor

Been following this for several weeks. So far, all anyone really knows is that Donut Lab's has produced a battery case - that per their unverified claims will have a "battery" with some specific characteristics in it shortly. People are associating those characteristics with solid state...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

What was the range on that $60k Lightning? Was that the $40k Lightning they promised us selling at $60k. Or was that the $60k Lightning that the dealers were asking $100k for and nobody gave a second chance to because they did not think Ford removed that disastrous initial market adjustment...

Forcasts are all to often alarmist, but as of today, 80+% chance of rain this weekend (we really need it, no rain in well over a month, and then almost 3 months before that) - and a low in the teens. They think that mythical white stuff might fall in Texas. Mythical white stuff is far more...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Combination. Low until a certain speed - light based after that. At least my home town does not have enough street lights or reflectors to trigger the light based auto low beams. Need to water cows tonight - will be manual going out of town, use auto till I get to my county road - then back...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

No high beams within "city" limits - but they generally put the auto on at 30 or 35mph. Given most small towns often have the police set at the city limits when the speed limit drops below 55, that means every town is a trap - both going in and leaving. There are small towns about 1 out of...

Just glancing at that Dodge - it does not look like it's made to do truck stuff (but what should I expect from a Chicago show). But sure, most trucks are probably sold to people who don't do truck stuff (or at least the truck stuff I grew up with). Low profile tires, mediocre ground clearance...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I wanted to say there are points of this discussion that have not been addressed ad nauseam. But honestly not sure if that is true anymore. Scout needs to develop a brand image, and continue operations until the next level of EV adoption happens. I can only hope that the Scout and Terra are...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I like automatic headlights - but none of the ones I have match local laws. They have to be overwritten whenever driving through a community here.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

On one side I do agree. The US automakers have set their own traps. Unpopular here, but UAW is part of that. Unpopular here is that Musk has tried to avoid some of those traps with Tesla. But VW group has also set their own traps. Legacy has it's specific inherent problems. It is hard to...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I think it is fairly obvious to anyone that the costs have changed since they started designing the Scout. Scout was formed after Covid, so at least they did not have to deal with the initial inflation that caused - but Covid fallout did change the inflation pasterns for years to come. Sadly...

    Initial Production Release

The main "ahead of schedule" I hope for is that production starts early enough that plenty of test units get in the wild and tested before customer delivery starts.

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

I suspect State laws vary, and change. In Texas, we did not allow direct sales. So even the Tesla's made in Texas had to be shipped out of state before they could be technically sold and delivered. Have purchased vehicles (and boats) from out of State. It is a bit more complicated - but...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

It's not just the wages of the factory workers, it is also the wages of the sales staff at the dealer, the overhead of the dealer (maintaining a brick and mortar presence, maintaining a floor plan), and the Regulatory pressure is not just the vehicles - it is the factories (from the permits...

    Traveler Spare Tire

Never put a bike on a roof much - but have had kayaks on top too many times to count. I think my record was carrying 9 kayaks - and I honestly forget how many paddlers (6-7 I think). 6 kayaks was a more common heavy load - but still not bad for a single cab truck with a cap. Tailgates were a...

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

Honestly - most of the options mentioned in this thread will be expensive, but perhaps they could become minor revenue centers and major marketing projects. BGE has an interesting marketing method. They offer BGE events. People pay to go, but get taught how to use the product (and a few get...

Agreed - no more Chevy's for me. Too many problems with the ones I have owned in the past.

204 kW - I don't see how that is all that impressive. I think they might have meant mW. A pallet of panels is generally a bit over 11kW. 18 pallets of panels (less than one 18 wheeler worth) is not all that impressive.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

For a road queen, 4 wheel steering would be nice (I guess). But I don't think I have ever seen it on a semi-affordable vehicle - unless you consider a Denali or Cybertruck semi-affordable. Plus I really don't know about it's durability offroad. Sure, if you have multi motor you might be able...
