  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout Loyalty

I would agree that prices usually trend up - but due to market pressure (increased production, increased options, flatting of demand) and a drop in the price of both lithium and battery prices, that has not completely rang true with EV's. Plus in general, new models tended to gain range and...

    Scout Loyalty

Lots of problems - we all want special treatment... How about a discount for buying 2 or more... Few of us can afford to pull off that hat trick.

    Battery used

Well, last week Donut released the results of independent cell testing. For a day or two, youtube reviews were positive. This week, the same test result are being viewed as VERY negative. They provide a fingerprint of cell chemistry (cell voltage, charge rate curves, etc...) - and the...

    All terrain tires

Depends on where in my ranch I am. I have managed to get stuck in black dirt, and wet clay, and watched others get stuck axle deep in soft sand. My whole life has been learning curves of where not to drive in certain conditions. But the wet grass issue was just embarrassing. I was not dug...

    All terrain tires

I drive on my ranch frequently - often multiple times a day, but not quite daily. Will be moving to the ranch before the Scout is in production - so will be driving off asphalt ever time I get in the vehicle then. On road biased AT's have gotten me stuck on wet grass before (with a 4 wheel...

Towing Behind Motorhome - Flat Towing

Flat towable was the MAIN reason I have a second Jeep. Sadly I have not used it for what I intended. I have used it to tow to the shop WAY to many times. Given it will be a minimal 2hr drive to a Scout repair center for me - flat towing would be convenient for the Scout if (in reality when)...

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

no particular love for west coast style tow mirrors - but I guess they have their place. I do like the retractable and folding tow mirrors on my F250. They stay retracted 99% of the time - but are great when I need to tow wider trailers I have. I just don't tow the wider trailers all that...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Subbing out manufacturing either means an extreamly low number will be made at custom shops, they are looking to sell out the design to someone who will actually produce it, or they will have it stolen when they are forced to send manufacturing to China. But honestly, just having a plant does...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

I don't wear it all that often (better now, but needing to recharge daily is a hassle) - but using an apple watch as a key could be fun. Using a Garmin watch would be better though - don't have to recharge that one nearly as often.

    Scout Traveler: Running Boards

Ford does running boards on some vehicles - I really hate how they look. Might has auto deploy steps that at least disappear when they are not down. Have learned how to get into a Jeep with a 4" lift without much issue - but would not turn down rock sliders.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The test was VERY specific. They told the facility exactly what to test, and did not give permission to test ANYTHING else. While it does hold a certain degree of promise - by specifying only one aspect of testing (charging of a single cell), it does not answer a ton of other questions. It...

Overhead chargers - guess they don't have many full sized trucks and offroad vehicles. Most of our parking garages are a tight fit for me vertically already.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Well, like many days, no physical work was really accomplished. Well not technically true - no physical work was accomplished in the garage, but time has been spent on a different "hobby" (I used to build a decent amount of hand made rosaries - now it is more of a lent thing). Work today that...

    Scout delayed??

I purchased an EV yesterday (ok, only a golf cart). Why? AC motor has more speed and torque than gas. AC motor has less maintenance than gas. AC motor is quieter than gas. Simply put - even with current battery tech - electric golf cart is better than gas in most ways (charging is slower...

    All terrain tires

Funny - KO3's are all terrain tires.

Harvester Battery Stage of Charge Question

While I can appreciate the Dodge will be able to handle more of my towing than the Scout - pretty sure I would avoid ever getting another vehicle with a Pentastar. We replace our Pentastar Jeep with a diesel one. Diesel performed so much nicer (the Pentastar would not have enough power to do...

    National tour when?

Any hints at what part of the state of Texas that might be?

Where would you like to see the Traveler and Terra this year?

I can not believe nobody has said this yet. MY DRIVEWAY. Sure, not realistic - but probably honest for a lot of us.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

FSD may be an inevitable future - the only question is if it will happen before solid state batteries rule as well. Right now - FSD is not a viable current technology for most. The Robo Taxis is one of the closest, and I think most of those are still being monitored. Driving assist features...

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

Not a Scout, not really interested - although, will admit it looks better than a Telsa or Rivian, and maybe even a Ford Lightning.
