  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Cab Bench Seat feature!

You'd definitely get heated seats with a Mr. Fusion in the center console.

Oh, I agree. White and all the shades of grey to black are the least interesting possible colors to me. Rivian just swapped one grey for another and made a big news story out of it. I can’t even begin to tell you what the difference is between them, besides the name and perhaps some kind of...

    Cab Bench Seat feature!

This is what I want in the center console, whether it’s a fold-down or fixed feature.

Why? I’m curious what color you expect. I have no idea how to predict what color they choose for upcoming events other than statements that essentially say the vehicles are being repainted, which lead me to guess not the same color as they’ve been painted before. So far as I know, for public...

Hmm… If so… Is that a little hint of a cabana roof?

The habit of some bloggers is to use non-standard language calling DCFC “Level 3.” That’s literally the opposite of the standard. The standard, as defined in the standards documents, is to call DC Fast Charging “DCFC.” If anything, it’s against standard to call DC charging “Level 3” because...

After having a tankless water heater on solar+battery power, I would go with an all-electric heat pump tanked water heater. But this is because I installed an 80 Amp tankless. If I could do it over again, I’d either get an all-electric heat pump tanked or a smaller (40 or 50 Amp) tankless. I...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

If I was looking to buy a new, compact BEV, I’d absolutely buy the Chevy Bolt. I know several people who own the previous generation and they are fantastic vehicles. If I was looking for a compact BEV and I didn’t care if it was used or new, I’d buy the 2023 Bolt. I don’t know anything about...

People also don’t want to pay for the poor handling a large, heavy battery creates. Read the reviews of the Silverado/Sierra. The handling is more like a dump truck than a pickup truck. Our 320 mile Lightning and 312 mile Mustang are great for never thinking about fuel again. We charge at home...

The SAE defines Level 1 AC, Level 2 AC, Level 3 AC (which was considered but never implemented), Level 1 DCFC (80 A maximum) and Level 2 DCFC (500 Amp maximum as updated in the 2024 revisions). The IEC defines four Modes with Mode 4 being DCFC. Every few years these two bodies amend the...

In my post about costs, I used the power utility rate. The reality is that most of my charging is done via solar. I didn't use the real number simply because it would have added an extra layer of complication to the answer. Most of our local driving is entirely free due to charging via solar and...

A heat pump water heater is a better option, especially if you go with a battery backup. The power use is distributed throughout the day, which is more easily fed by solar and battery than a tankless. We have a tankless and it draws 19 kW, which is too much for our battery backup to feed, so we...

Scout Concepts in Scottsdale, Arizona, April 25, 2026

My guess is that it’s just to track interest. How many people from this forum (and others) are there to see the new Scouts vs there for the monthly event.

So many factors… For me, it’s difficult to say with certainty because the weather has been weird, we’ve added some other devices, I run a compute business from home with wildly varying compute demands from week to week, we have solar panels and a backup battery, etc., etc., etc. The easiest...

I know why they do it. It doesn’t matter if the plug works if I can’t plug it into my vehicle. The fact is that the design and the behavior that design engenders in its users creates one of the reasons I consider those stations to be unreliable as a place to charge. Unless there are more than...

Thanks Jamie. I swear I saw somewhere on here that the engine/genset would be between the axles. I must have misread something. My apologies to everyone if I did misread and/or misrepresent what I read. If the engine/genset is aft of the rear axle, that seems it would effectively reduce...

So then we’re back to price not being the actual differentiator. We'll be paying the same amount either way (barring the very, very few people who actually find a way to get an actual lower price, not just a feel-good price from a dealership). Given that the prices aren’t going to be better...
