  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout delayed??

Agreed. They would have to literally re-invent the production assembly process to incorporate such a big difference in models and there is no way IMO that is going to be feasible for SM's production plan/budget.

    Scout Loyalty

I once had my 98 Dodge Ram 1500 pulled out of mudhole by a Scout II. Does that qualify for a discount too? Of course I am only joking about the discount, (I was actually rescued though and this was my introduction to the Scout brand as a teenager) but this is a good example of what SM could...

    Scout delayed??

Excellent point. I had a Tesla Model 3 as my first EV and quickly realized the frunk was great to have. Now I have a Rivian which has a very large frunk and is now a non-negotiable item for me when it comes to my next vehicle. However, I think moving the harvester to the front could work and...

    Frunk

    I think Slate won this competition already with their Frunk Onion Dip add :ROFLMAO: <blockquote class="tiktok-embed" cite="" data-video-id="7595270541561351479" style="max-width: 605px;min-width: 325px;" > <section> <a target="_blank" title="@slateauto"...

    Frunk

This is a good point. I've noticed from the concept photos I've seen that there is quite a bit of plastic in the frunk. Unfortunately, it reminds me a lot of the GM EV's frunk and I fear it will be similar. However, I hope I do hope it's more like the Lightning and nothing at all like the...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Honestly, I reserved the BEV initially, (and would take one if there was earlier availability) and as a current Rivian owner it wouldn't be that much of leap other than quite a bit bigger vehicle. However, I love technology and experience the forefront of it so I changed my res to a Harvester...

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

This is an interesting discussion indeed. When the Traveler first came out I was in awe with the design and the look of the spare tire on the back. But then they put out the back pack and I was like oh that could be really useful too. So that got me thinking, why not have both? I mean sure you...

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

    Yes they are completely legal.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

You're forgetting one major detail. The Scout will be a high tech EREV and not just an EV so the "SM adopters" will be in an entirely different class across the board to begin with. On top of that, with the high level of tech, level of luxury, and high capabilities that SM is appearing to be...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

Ford app has not been the best, but has improved over the years. However, the Tesla app is the bench mark and Rivian is getting really close but there is still a delay when trying to actuate the vehicle via the app. In fact, I almost entirely use my phone/app to access my Rivian. Truly, few...

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

Yet another couple of features that my Rivian has. The reverse lights are super bright, but the cool part is you can set them to stay on for up to 5 mins after you get out of the truck, and with this setting the headlights stay on as well. And then in camp mode (which undoubtedly SM will also)...

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

Yeah as much as I would like this to be a standard feature I have a feeling the A/M is going to be huge for SM and they will surely have some serious lighting kits. But pre-wiring is a solid idea too.

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

This is one thing that use to drive me crazy about Rivian before the most recent update. Prior you would stand at the truck and the door handles wouldn't present and it would take opening your phone and opening the app for the vehicle to "wake" and the handles to present. However, since the...

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

They definitely help people keep their distance thats for sure. They are really bright

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

More like here truly lies the problem for SM. They have the seemingly impossible task of satisfying both sides of their buyer spectrum. However, I think we are all confident they will get it right by production. Regarding the Waymo cars we have them here in Atlanta too and they are a joke...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I understand what you're saying and you're not wrong especially as a commercial driver that is the only way to drive. However, I must admit that i have become so use to having blind spot cameras I don't even check my mirrors much if at all anymore when on the highway and changing lanes. This is...

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

A key fob in a 2027/28 vehicle is wild. I'm sure there will be phone key access too, but really hope there is a key card as standard and the key fob can be purchased, or better yet SM can do what Rivian did on the launch of R1 and include both. In fact, now that I think about it including both...

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

I own a Rivian and would still agree with you on this. I have never loved the Rivian front end, but the back is slick and clean. Fun fact, the front end was designed so it would be instantly recognizable and not look like anything else on the road. Well they succeeded at that, but at a cost...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

This is a really interesting take, and one I have not heard yet in the self driving discussion. I do understand what you're saying and I agree to a point. However, in my use I commute daily with access to a paid access lane and as soon as I can get into it I'm engaging my self drive in my Rivian...

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

Looks great, clean install. I really like the dual light colors too, for multifunction.
