  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Does Scout Motors Need A Challenge Coin Too?

What a quote... That's like saying to the Uber and Lyft drivers that "the taxi cab has been the most effect transportation mode for on-demand rides. It's something we should honor and respect". ?‍?

    DROPDOWN REAR WINDOW

100%. I had a Tundra with a rear roll-down and it was awesome. Great for shoving things like fly rods in the truck (or longer items) for easy transport when traveling locally.

Off road water wading - EV vs harvester

Was there any talk of exhaust routing for the harvester? I could have missed it.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

If Scout wants to succeed as a business, they need to provide the necessary safety features, sensors and SW to support a minimally viable product (as J Alynn points out above) - and with the right HW and implementation, it can improve and get better with OTA updates over time. The business...

    Referral Program

I get that sentiment 100%. I think the difference with the example I used is that there isn't a discount on the truck. Also, with direct sales, credible/honest owners are the tip of the spear for building trust in a new brand. Here's an article I found on the program they implemented...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

My implementation of Regen with the R1T accounts for "coasting" where you stop depressing the accelerator BUT you don't lift off the accelerator or choose to slowly lift off the accelerator (gradually slowing the vehicle, but with no brake light)... If I take my foot off the accelerator or lift...

    Bench Seat vs Standard

I had a Silverado with this configuration for the bench (prior to my Rivian). It worked great... Until you flipped it up and forgot you had some little stuff sitting in the cup holders or the compartment. Everything inside the compartment flies all over the place when you flip it up too. Just...

    SAFETY RATING - COLLISSION PHISYCAL

Good news on the EV front, since you mentioned Subaru (which really doesn't have a vehicle competing in the same category, per se) and Toyota: https://insideevs.com/news/744838/2025-rivian-r1s-top-safety-pick-plus-iihs-rating/ The updated Rivian R1S is now the safest large SUV on American...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Probably important to note that much of the tech required to support "hands free" driving is also associated with safety features (like emergency braking for example) that have become table stakes for any modern vehicle. Rivian offers something called Driver+ today, which I use on almost every...

Teaser Images to what we actually got

I guess that is why it is a called a "teaser" image. I think we all expected that there were going to be tweaks made (going from teaser to mule to prototype to production), but if you black-out all the lights on the actual image of the Traveler above, I don't think it would look terribly...

    Questions about the Harvester

The good news is that nobody knows the specific details or exact specs for the Harvester (yet) and that everyone here has a reservation (not a binding P&S)... Even if someone had specs and details to share at this stage (from early testing or a lab environment), they would still be too early to...

    Questions about the Harvester

So 36% of "current EV owners" are opting for the Pure EV Scout in that poll... Def not a "majority", but does show correlation to EV ownership for those choosing the PURE EV Scout (compared to the general take-rate). Good stuff!

    Questions about the Harvester

For the majority of U.S. daily drivers, 150 miles of pure electric range will be more than adequate (based simply on data and the average daily drive of US citizens). That is a fact. Owning an EV comes with the caveat of charging, so the assumption may be that these owners have access to L2...

    Frunk features

Certainly, that dial on the left COULD be digital... I think I remember hearing that this was simply representative to demonstrate that the air compressor will have a place in the new Scout

    Questions about the Harvester

Hahaha! I forgot about the 4XE... Probably b/c it has a battery range of 21 miles and 2.0 liter 4 banger. Agree, that based on the EREV part, it is likely the closest to compare to (at least for the Harvester Terra). The part about "keeping up" takes me back to Gas and Go... I was (maybe...

    Questions about the Harvester

Well, there are no other EREV/PHEV off-road capable trucks on the market that I am aware of, so it would only be better than what exists today. Not having full performance is likely a non-starter for people that tow, live in the mountains, have racks and load their trucks, etc... To me, this is...
