  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Your comment was on the "stated range". Nobody that is buying an EV thinks they are somehow cheating the charging system and fueling faster in an EV than an ICE, however, if you look across all EV trips (and assuming you have an EVSE or L2 charger at home) you will clearly see that your "time"...

    Modular battery pack design

Not to mention, with modern SW & BMS operating across the modules, it would be extremely rare for a "cell" to degrade. BMS manages health.

    Comparing preorders to Bronco sales

I would agree with those that think less is more at this stage when it comes to marketing for Scout. I also do not think Scout should market the way the other OEM's do, and see no reason for TV ads. They are expensive and annoying, and there are much better ways to specifically target the...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

That is the way all EV's and ICE vehicles work. A stated range of 350 for a pure EV truck is phenomenal for many reservation holders. You put an ICE truck and EV truck in a headwind up a cold windy mountain road and you are going to see hits. At slower speeds, and in an EV, you could also see...

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

The Harvester would require 18.375 gallons of gas to produce enough electricity to charge & travel 350 miles, so you could theoretically get away with a 20 gallon tank (based on the range estimates provided). This estimate is assuming that the truck is running at 2 miles / kWh (on average), and...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Considering you can't buy or reserve ANY EV today with Solid State Batteries, it would be unreasonable to believe that we would see a solid state option for launch while Scout is actively lining up suppliers for initial production (and working with VW & likely PowerCo)

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Maybe I missed something, but what does CA have to do with pure BEV?

How will the scouts handle the extreme cold?

Exactly, and you would have tremendous storage options compared to an ICE p/u

How will the scouts handle the extreme cold?

Hypothetically, and even if a shiny new Scout EV had a seemingly slow boot-up time (which isn't a thing based on current EV models on the market today) you would still spin-up and tear out faster than any ICE truck. That isn't an exaggeration - its just the reality with instant torque and...

How will the scouts handle the extreme cold?

Sub-freezing cold weather, road conditions, head-wind and elevation gain will cut your efficiency for sure. Climbing into the mountains I can see my averages drop, so advanced planning can be needed in these conditions to ensure you have enough juice to get back to a charger (if going into the...

    Sound suppression

I gotta say, tire noise varies a ton by tire manufacturer - not really the OEM. Compound, tread pattern, tire-type, sidewall and tread depth are all factors in noise. I think the Pirelli Scorpion AT that Rivian spec'd for the 20's is surprisingly quiet on pavement (comparatively speaking when...

How will the scouts handle the extreme cold?

The reality for EV set-ups is that they will always be faster to "get up and go" compared to ICE, since there is no mechanical "start" process, per se. You put the EV in DRIVE and blast off - whether it is cold or not cold, that doesn't matter in terms of "elapsed time". Since this thread...

    Range and Competitiveness

Yes, and great to have the additional mileage coverage to 175,000... I don't live in CA though. Point being, warranty for Scout will be a purchasing criteria, and not all warranties are created equal (after the minimum restrictions)

Hot take: 18-22" Wheels on Base Model

The interesting thing is that it isn't just the wheel size itself that gets you better efficiency. It seems to be a combination of wheel size and weight + tire design (sidewall aerodynamics & tread & compound) + aerodynamics of the wheel itself. This is apparent with the three Rivian wheel and...

    Range and Competitiveness

Sure, when you start with a tiny amount of range (21 miles) AND you couple that with faster degradation at the start of the health curve, I could see how that could appear more worrisome, but we aren't talking about a tiny 17 kWh battery in this case for the Harvester or the Pure EV. For...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

It sounds like you may have experienced poor or early implementations of Driver Assist functionality. I would say more often than not, distracted human drivers are the accident waiting to happen - much more so than drivers traveling with Driver Assist features turned on. If anything, Driver...

    Range and Competitiveness

Wear and tear on the battery is the last thing i would worry about, especially on L2 at home. Not to mention, Scout will likely have an excellent warranty to compete with other brands and to ensure strong lift-off from initial reservation holders. I have an 8 year/175,000 mile warranty on my...

    DROPDOWN REAR WINDOW

Oh this is very nice, but I hope we can have a Logan screen delete option in the Terra configurator please, LOL. Think I would just roll up the rear window if leaves were blowing around in the bed vortex!

    Range and Competitiveness

Daily drives & commutes for US citizens sits at around ~40 miles per day. For longer trips, you engage the Harvester to go up to 500. If you need 200 / day, why not just get the pure EV which has 350?
