  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

Definitely gives me the impression that they’ve really thought things through. Hope everything works out as good as it looks.

    Lessons Learned on Range Anxiety

It’s a fair point. As far sitting in your vehicle, the energy to heat or cool it (or play video games or movies on the screen ?) is a tiny fraction of what a typical dcfc can provide. The limiting factor is usually what the battery can take so there’s plenty of headroom for the creature...

Traveler Ultimate Wish List for Scout Motors

One thing about ventilated seats, different auto makers mean different things when they use that term. Some (eg volvo) just mean blowing cabin air through the seats. That’s not great if the cabin air is hot. What’s really nice is Kia, which blows airconditoned air through the seats. When you...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

I’d add: being able to turn lights on and off to, uh, say “hi” to other drivers (day or night) and driving up kitt peak after dark (no lights allowed). As I pointed out in another thread, is automatic is the only option, there are always going to be cases that the designer didn’t consider. A...

Please, No Free Fast Charging Credits

You might be interested in the “out of spec motoring” YouTube channel, or sister channel “out of spec reviews “, they talk a lot about charging strategies, and even have races , like Denver to Las Vegas where the key to winning is the charging strategy. Winning strategy tends to be to drive it...

How much personalization/modification ability do you want to see in the new Scout?

And even if you’re not modding it, to some extent moddable implies fixable, which is getting to be an issue with modern cars, esp some EVs.

    EREV -> BEV switchover path

I don’t know if they’ll consider it feasible, but that’d be pretty cool. After 5 or 10 years of ownership, the landscape may have changed quite a bit so one doesn’t need the harvester anymore.

    Lessons Learned on Range Anxiety

Tom Moloughney who runs “State of charge” YouTube channel has reviewed these. While each of them has had some minor issues (including teslas adapter), these specific ones seem to be pretty legit, high quality with appropriate safety features.

    UWB Digital Key

I believe the Mach e originally came with a single fob reasoning that, since folks could use their phone as a key they didn’t need 2 fobs. Wasn’t too long before they backtracked and had to agree to provide second fobs because phone was so unreliable.

    Gas Powered Range Extender

Wait, what? I hadn’t heard this anywhere. So we can have a spare without getting the swing out carrier? I was afraid the only option was no spare (?) or using up storage space in the vehicle. Thanks for the info!

    Post Reveal Suggestions

No personal experience, as all my vehicles have either been old fashioned with a key, or have start/stop buttons, but I’ve followed a few EVs on YouTube and there are often issues like, car turns off when driver exits, so if you don’t have a specific “camp” or “pet” mode you don’t have a way for...

I’m sure it ages me, but I have to admit, I do miss having a cd player in my vehicle.

    Post Reveal Suggestions

I have to disagree on the start/stop/on/off button, I want to tell the vehicle when to turn on and off, not the vehicle telling me. There always end up being exceptions. I’ve heard numerous examples where people have to bend over backwards to get the car to do what they want, because the...

    Ideas for Scout Engineers

The deal between VW and Rivian is about lower level computer architecture, I wouldn’t necessarily expext any Vw products to show up with higher level Rivian UI software. For Scout in particular, I would expect that they’ll take advantage of that architecture, but want their own spin on the user...
