  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Compass in Vehicles and Accessory

I’m pretty ignorant on the subject, but I would assume it’s a simple magnetic compass. How does a true north compass work? I’m assuming that to to point to the actual North Pole it would need position info as well as the location of the magnetic pole?

In the past I’ve heard of auto makers testing in places as diverse as Scandinavia, New Zealand and Australia.

    MIT Climate Portal

Because, even though we have about 4.2% of the world’s population, we emit almost 14% of the co2, ie 3x the world average. I’m sure it’s not the worst, but it still means we have a ways to go to do our share. Europe has twice the population but generates less co2, and they’re still planning to...

    MIT Climate Portal

We aren’t afraid of the CO2 that we breathe out. As you point out, that’s part of the stable cycle, we grow plants , they absorb carbon, animals eat the plants and emit carbon, and it’s a nice stable cycle. The problem comes when we dig up carbon that’s been in the ground for hundreds of...

South Carolina Scouts! Your voice is heard: Direct sales bill gets a hearing on Wednesday!

I think the issue is not about specific brands, it’s about restricting consumer choice and manipulating the law to create a monopoly that leads to various abuses of the type we’ve all experienced and read about. Any decent dealership that treats people fairly and adds value should not be afraid...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Umm, the reason that ice engines generate so much heat is precisely because they’re wasting energy. They’re less than 30% efficient, and most of that other 70% ends up as heat. Some of that heat turns out to be useful, but in no way are ice engines anywhere close to the efficiency of electric...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I wouldn’t extrapolate too much from your experience with a cell phone. Car batteries are managed much more carefully while phone batteries are pushed to the limit in pursuit of ever thinner, lighter phones (cuz they don’t have much else to show advancement these days). EVs are rarely drained...

Would you want a translucent, auto-dimming antiglare visor for drivers and passengers.

Also, when it comes to blocking out the Sun, I prefer opaque to translucent.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

According to Wikipedia, the car didn’t have cup holders, and she was careful to have the driver park before trying to add cream and sugar to her coffee. She had asked only for money to cover medical expenses (about d20,000, after 8 days in the hospital including serious burns that required skin...

What are you driving until release?

A lot of ev experts are recommending leasing for new EVs because the current depreciation rates are so high. Hopefully as technology matures that’ll smooth out a bit.

How will the scouts handle the extreme cold?

My rav4 is quick, but not quick enough. My typical move is put on seatbelt, hit the power button and put it in gear, but the second it takes from powering on to being “ready” is too long so it complains and have to put it back in park, then hit the button again, then it will allow me to put it...

    Referral Program

It seems that offering free charging has had a lot of unintended negative consequences in terms of access to charging. Specifically people taking up space at chargers and charging to 100% (which takes a long time) when they have charging at home, but since it’s free they sit at public chargers...

    >I don’t watch sports, or TV, and use ad-blockers Well, yeah, that might have something to do with it ? I’ve seen a lot of scout ads in my insta feed.
