  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

I have to assume that's in their plans based on the switch blanks they're putting in. In my Toyota, I just had to buy a factory switch, pop it in the slot, put a relay in the fuse box, and I was good to connect lights. The harnesses were already there and connected to the dash, high beams...

    Rain/fog Lights in the rear

This is definitely a European thing, and I don't expect these behemoths to be sold across the pond, but I would love to see prewiring for lights in general. My Toyota came prewired for auxiliary front lights and roof lights which was really nice. I don't need roof lights, but prewiring for...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Tire wear due to camber gain seems to be a known issue on the Rivians in Conserve mode, though I haven't paid much attention since the original quad motors. Maybe it was only using the front motors in Conserve mode that caused the issue, but I was thinking it was camber based on some of the...

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

Australia?? I'll trust it more once the terrorist groups use them with their 50-cals mounted in the bed in the middle of a desert. :ROFLMAO: The pictures you always see of those groups is pretty much a Toyota ad...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Makes me wonder how much more that system weighs than a traditional suspension, and what impact that has on range. Thankfully, EVs seem to take a smaller range hit with extra weight than ICE vehicles. Either way, not worth the savings when translated to tire wear.

    Center Screen

I've played with a lot of the HUD options in my current sedan and really only use it for the G-meter to see how hard I'm corning and occasionally for the shift light (manual transmission), so I really don't see any reason I'd want it in the Scout. Now, if they do a full-windshield infrared...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I've squeezed three vehicles in my 2-car garage before with a hail storm moving in, but I was wishing I'd lost some weight before trying to get out of the last car. :ROFLMAO: Thankfully, like @cyure, I have a basement that keeps a lot of the clutter out of the main garage. Mostly just tool...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'm there with you, and I'm a Toyota guy at heart. There's nothing compelling in their lineup anymore. As someone that services my own vehicles, that's not gonna happen with the newer models, and I REALLY don't want to have to pay someone to strip half of the engine bay to change something...

What would you be willing to pay for a paint color?

I'd rather Scout not offer any boring colors at all, and have what would normally be the lower-tier of upgraded colors as the standard option for no charge. Do a nice pearl, creamy white as your base white. Do a richer metallic black, etc. Actually, I'm okay doing away with the generic black...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Makes me wonder where they'd be if they'd targeted the blue collar work truck/work van crowd more up front instead of pursuing the luxury market.

    Define your lifestyle….

speedrye: sedentary As such, I want a vehicle that will go where I want, when I want. I'm lazy, the last thing I want to do is get out and have to shovel or winch or, well, anything that'll get my heart rate above 80bpm or so. I also need mud-terrain tires. All-terrain tires are for people...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

More importantly, I think it'll ultimately help brand prestige. High repair costs are what kill resale value on brands like BMW, Maserati, etc. Create a desirable vehicle that's both reliable and affordable to maintain, and your brand will be worth more. I don't have much of a problem buying...

Seriously, grab that trademark. If Scout wants it later, you can negotiate.

    Luxury EV

Luxury EV? Sounds like you want the Audi version. Scout's gotta keep their options a bit more limited to keep from stepping on the toes of the Four Rings.

You BEV guys are looking at this all wrong. Let the EREV guys work out the production line kinks so that you're not a beta tester... :ROFLMAO:

    Even better! I like savings.

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

Since destination charges are mandatory by law, we'd still be paying Scout the fee anyway, even if we pick our vehicle up at the factory. It'd be nice to do a voucher for pick up where we select how that voucher is used. Wine and camping? Off-road training course? Guided tour? Personally, I...
