  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

So, forgive me for asking, but since the hatch covers the full height of the opening, does the little tailgate serve a purpose?

Fond memories of one of the great 80s movies:

    I’m sure that’ll impress a Chinese court 😋

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

EVs are better suited for that kind of situation than ice vehicles, even at 3 degrees. You don’t use much energy when you’re not moving; no idling engine to feed.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Turns out you can solve all the problems with social media with this one weird trick that they don’t want you to know, but they can’t stop you…

    Ideal Small Sized Vehicle

For my purposes, B, daily driver, BEV. Something like an r2, but with scout design.

    Scout delayed??

Not everyone reads every thread. There’s an increasing amount of traffic, so it’s getting harder to keep up to date, and one doesn’t always think of using the search bar if they’re posting rather than looking for info.

    Future smaller SUV

Very much on the same page. The last two cars I got rid of were 14 and 18 years old, both bought new. The traveler is beautiful, but too big for my needs. Parking and fitting in the garage would be a daily hassle. But otherwise, scout philosophy and design is exactly what I’m looking for.

    Onboard air compressor

So what I’m hearing is smaller tires are better for off roading 🙃

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

They’ve been playing chess while we’ve been playing “pin the tail on the donkey”. They leveraged their strengths, access to a huge market, ability to streamline government regulation and access capital, to acquire and develop technology and expertise, while we’re focused on working spreadsheets...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The “war on buttons” approach is a huge turn off for me.

    Suggestion: Autonomous Driving Mode

I believe “FSD” is also level 2. You can’t have level 3 and above without the manufacturer accepting some liability, and Elon is allergic to that.

    Vintage Scout Commercials/Ads

Interesting how it’s advertising not just the rugged features, but convenience and comfort as well. Kinda analogous to the new scout also offering ADAS and tech features, as well as rugged and comfy stuff. I need my seat ventilation 😋

Coastal Vibes: The “Pacific Mist” Scout Traveler Concept

@Jamie@ScoutMotors , is there any confirmation on spare possibilities without the carrier? I know folks have widely assumed there will be some option for “smaller” tires, (33”, or what us roadies call “still pretty darn big”) but I don’t know if there’s been any official word on it. The...

    Regenerative braking

I love the PADDLES on Kia/hyundais. They’re pretty much invisible from driver position, so no danger of offending anyone, and they make a very easy way to adjust regen for different driving conditions or preferences. Bring on the PADDLES! 🤣

    Regenerative braking

Yea, I like the Hyundai/Kia approach with the paddles. I just wish they didn’t hide the door handles.
  18. O

    Regenerative braking

To be clear, regen braking is not the same as one pedal driving. What you seem to be referring to is one pedal driving, which is essentially equivalent to always hitting the brakes whenever you take your foot off the gas, which leads to that heightened opportunity for motion sickness. This was...
