  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Change of Heart?

I think the $200M Merrell is referring to is actually the additional $150 million needed to finish infrastructure projects: https://scdailygazette.com/2026/01/27/sc-is-150m-over-budget-on-promises-it-made-to-bring-scout-motors-to-the-state/ The other $200 million is Scout Motors investment in...

    Change of Heart?

Technically the county had to go back and ask for more money - not Scout Motors. Scout Motors isn’t doing most of the infrastructure working to prepare the land, put in the railroad bridge, build the interchange, road improvements, moving power lines, etc., etc. - that’s being done by the...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

No. Spare tire will block portions of the plate and some states have specific viewing requirements (and renewal sticker placements). The plate will likely be on the swing arm on production vehicles.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I fully understand the economics involved. At some point you have to trust that the thousands of people involved in this project know what they are doing. :D

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

And your assumption is that this wasn't planned.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

We are launching vehicles in two of the biggest and most popular segments. We are offering two powertrain options, have the ability to adapt new battery tech in the platform and have production line flexibility. That’s without talking about the design (inside and out), features, American...

    Change of Heart?

No change of heart at all on our end. We are still moving ahead with everything and making great progress. New factory. New suppliers. New platform development. New employees. Launching two new vehicles. That is a lot to do at once, and there could inevitably be some delays when trying to...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Production models look virtually identical as we planned.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Have to tell you that with round headlamps the Scout looks like a Bronco. Yes, the Scout 80 was on the market five years before Bronco came around, but the general public has no idea. That's part of the reason we didn't do it. Also, back then there wasn't anything but round headlamps available...

    F1

Truthfully, I've been agnostic since Schumacher left the game. I tend to root for the underdogs a bit, where a young, talented driver, wet behind the ears, starts to get confidence, and their team grows with them. I was happy to see Lando get the championship last year. Kimi shows amazing...

    F1

Anytime you make radical changes like F1 did this year, there will be growing pains and adjustments. It isn't the end of F1 quite yet. :D

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

We wouldn't do that to you all. :D The pickuptruck with the longer wheelbase has a few more options we can exploit to make it more competitive in the space. Traveler is more limited with the shorter wheelbase. Teams here are still optimizing tow ratings, so stay tuned.

February 2026 Scout Production Center Update

I wouldn't read anything into this. The 3D CAD image is part of a video that is a year old now and they just wanted a placeholder Traveler body to use. Let's see where the production version ends up.

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Scott Keogh, during a meeting with journalists yesterday, said production would start in 2027 with customer deliveries in 2028. He also mentioned 87% of our reservations were for EREV and that we obviously want to get the vehicles people want into their hands. Our customer service teams get...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It is one assembly line for both vehicles. The assembly line carriers have the ability to adapt to different sizes of vehicles on the same line. EREV and BEV are the same vehicle platform, one with the engine bits and one without.

It is on the north end of the property and grading just started in the last month. You can see "Scout Mountain" above upper-right. It is about 60ft tall.

February 2026 Scout Production Center Update

The latest update on the factory is up on Scout Stories: https://blog.scoutmotors.com/february-2026-scout-motors-production-center-update/ A little bonus for the forum showing the 3D CAD work done to plan for the entire 1.3 million square foot body shop:
