  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Software Features

Nature/farm sounds seems right up Scout's alley.

    Software Features

I agree that simple is always good but I think that "Delightful" is the ultimate goal. The desingers at Scout are all about heritage and connection and they nailed the vehicle deisgn so I don't doubt they will do the same on the software side. Some of the features I listed are simply must haves...

    Software Features

I realized I listed features but never really mentioned those of which we use on a regular basis. Here they are: Pin to drive - this is a great security feature because even if someone steals your phone, they would not be able to drive away with your car. Phone as akey (table stakes these days)...

    Software Features

The car makes farts sounds when the driver presses one of the buttons on the steering wheel. There are a variety that get cycled through and you can choose your preferred fart. I would not want the stomach condition that these farts represent. Completely useless and dumb but the 5 year olds...

    Software Features

Perhaps Scout's version of carwash mode should be to disable the vehicle if an owner tries to enter a carwash!

    Software Features

My wife and I own a 2018 Tesla Model 3 which has mostly kept up to date as a software defined vehicle which got me thinking more about which features to expect or which we hope don't appear when the Scouts come out in 27/28. The list below is Tesla biased but serves as a fairly comprehensive...

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

It has been a while since I have measured overnight drain in cold temperatures but I recall losing about 1-2% a night in freezing temperatures assuming no other loads are on the battery such as sentry mode being enabled or me constantly checking the battery level through the app. I'm sure this...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

You're not confused. Preconditioning is used in several contexts. The most common is the one you reference above, preparing the battery for an optimial charge (warming or cooling). However, you can also preconditon your battery for improved performance for "cold starts" such as when driving...

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

I'll leave the math to @SpaceEVDriver but you can expect to lose about 15-20% range around the freezing mark assuming the vehicle uses a heat pump (Scouts will) and you precondition the battery. These numbers will be worse at 6 degrees. Remember that many other factors come into play including...

Mushroom ranch truck (or as close as I could get the AI to match the color). For some reason the stump looks to be trembling at the presence of the mighty Terra. Maybe its days are numbered...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Well let's take stock: Engine Oil & Oil Filter Engine Air Filter Coolant Sparkplugs & wires Fuel filter Fuel injectors Belts & hoses Exhaust system Sensors including ECUs, Mass Airflow, O2, Oil pressure and many more ... The bigger question might be access to the ICE to perform maintenance so...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

We would all love more information however given where Scout is in their development cycle, vehicle specifics are likely evolving and are certainly subject to refinement over time. Sharing details prematurely opens a big can of worms, Jamie has said as much. So for now all we can do is...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Yeah, the brakes will likely limit the size to 18", stopping is important I guess. I still hold out hope for 17s however unlikely.

Can't argue with this combination at all! Wish it were possible for these vehicles. Maybe 17s...

Well said oh voice of reason and I agree. Now if they could just show 33's on 18" wheels so everyone can be happy!

I don't understand the obsession with huge wheels, especially on a rugged SUV. 🤷‍♂️ Give me 18's and some sidewall and I'm a happy camper.

    EREV initial release only?

To say that a G-Wagon has zero capability is simply not true. At least for off-road use. It has triple lockers and is pretty solid for a stock vehicle. I get not wanting to drive one daily but I wouldn't turn one down if given one to drive. Then again my daily is a 2004 Montero...with character.
