  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Happy Holidays!

Well said. This is America - Where we're free to believe whatever we want and practice different religions or no religion. And that freedom was given to us by people of all different religions & beliefs, for which, we should all be very thankful! Even though my family celebrates Christmas, my...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Toyota had a real chance after releasing the Prius in North America, then squandered it. That release was back in 1997, so I feel it's fair - particularly based on their anti-information campaigns and JAMA propaganda (perpetuated by none other than M. Toyoda)... He also heads JAMA. I owned...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Toyota has been the antithesis of EV innovation, particularly based on their ties to the Japanese O&G lobby and reluctance to embrace any EV truck (while the whole market evolves around them). I don't know how to make this any clearer, but Scout doesn't need to sell 200K+ trucks in their first...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Where do mud ruts and capability equate to emotion? Where do emotion or vanity enter my thought process surrounding capability, because that is not what I stated. Who is saying Scout can't tell their own story, and also have it amplified by those who know the Scout brand (and sell 200K+...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

The efficiency gains when lowering my truck appear very small... So small in fact that I worry more about tire wear / negative camber when lowering my truck for long runs.

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Again, your version of logic is not the same as everyone else's. Some people may live up a mountain pass with extreme freeze-thaw periods. Logic would tell them to find a truck with excellent capabilities to handle deep ruts, ice, mud, and snow on a steep gradient. NOT A CAMRY. I'm sorry if you...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I'm not attacking you, I'm simply acknowledging that you may not be able to understand some of the reasoning behind my own logic and how I was assigning value, because my logic for assigning value is personal and may be different than yours. That is not a personal attack, so if you misconstrued...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

If you want to believe the opposite, that's fine - everyone has a right to believe whatever they want about price & value individually (which was my point) You referenced the Lightning. I was not referencing price, and I (personally) would not be cross-shopping or referencing the Lightning when...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Personally, I would assign a much higher value score to a Scout Terra, than to a Ford Lightening. They are just very different trucks to me. So, consider that not all buyers are falling into traps - they likely think about capability, use cases, and ownership requirements differently. The...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

Yes, I had assumed that there would be a FWD-only / ECO motor mode with the Scout to disengage the rear motor, but I suppose that is all TBD still. I use ECO Mode in my R1T all the time on long-straight HWY runs to disengage the rear 2 motors, and there is clearly an efficiency gain of course...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

This is interesting. Out here on the ICE COAST I have never had a T DCFC Charger not work - they seem highly reliable. Charging is generally fast and there are usually more chargers at Brand T DCFC stations, which makes sense based on unit sales and opening-up the network and adding new...

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

I would have a very tough time going back to gas at this stage. I'm 100% Pure BEV Terra or BUST! There's definitely an opening here, it just seems like it isn't for one of the big 3, which is fine by me. Another thing I would have a hard time with is going back to a brand like Toyota, or one...

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

PURE BEV TERRA IS UP .2 points to 8.4!!!

    Engineered / Warrantied for…

Yep, bigger tires will definitely create more stressors, and there are already considerable stressors placed at the joints and axles with the amount of torque the EV motors will produce. By way of example, this is also 1 reason why Rivian is not rolling out the kick-turn feature to Gen 1 Quad...

The gas tank needs to be bigger on the Harvester models

Its probably also important to consider how you drive and what external and environmental conditions will impact range - including payload, towing, temp, drag, etc. Of course this is just like any ICE vehicle and just like any EV vehicle when looking at efficiency. 500 miles of range is a lot...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I have to say, I think this is one of those places where the Scout Traveler very intentionally fits into a window between the R1S and the R2 for some buyers... The Traveler (at least to me) seems much more aligned with the attributes and capabilities (and footprint) of the R1, but without a...
