  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Delivery Options

I say we take delivery, throw some canoes on top of our Scouts and go for a real adventure in the wild. Screw the stocked pond with hatchery fish. Let's hit the river. And J Allyn can do some archery

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Rivian drove my new R1T to my house, I had a pre-appraisal amount for my trade-in (electronically) which was quite fair, and was in line with Carvana, Edmunds TMV, etc., then I signed papers / took delivery, and the Rivian guys drove off in my trade-in. Seamless - and best experience I have...

    Former Rivian R1S User

Its great, but I do miss Waze on the infotainment screen through carplay. I just run Waze in the background since my phone is sitting there. Carplay is so great for voice commands and hands-free, but I can still use Siri while driving. Great news is that Scout should leverage some of the great...

    Shoulda been a Scout engineer obv's. 😅

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

I'm guessing there would be some significant internal debate about mounting anything like a snorkel to the exterior of the vehicle. It will impact efficiency, add wind noise, and is also symbolic of ICE and exhaust - the opposite of their messaging on environmental stewardship and delivering...

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

Another great advantage for the pure BEV reservation holders - deep wading depths (if the doors have adequate / double seals) and NO exhaust or intake (and no snorkel!). Whenever I see a snorkel, I think about all the widdy bitty wadders that that they seem to wuv.

Preparing an EV for a winter storm...

I don't really do anything special for a storm, but get ready for winter late in Fall when the first flakes start to fly: 1. Swap in winter wheels and tires (remove summers with Pirelli Scorpion AT's / mount winter wheels with Nokians Hakkas) 2. Throw recovery stuff in gear tunnel (traction...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Most everyone can get behind less expensive, better-equipped & more capable vehicles. But labeling people as "defeatists" when they may not be part of your crusade is just name-calling. I don't see you as a villain... I think people just share different perspectives and may not share yours...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Thank you. Now everyone can get what they want. Problem solved!

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Perhaps a more noble pursuit in your crusade would be to expand beyond targeting Scout and simply conquer stagnating wage growth domestically (since not everyone wants a truck with lockers and body on frame construction)? This would increase your purchasing power.

What would best EV (s) to rent for a day

You should have more options in Austin I would imagine. Great city, if you can avoid the traffic!

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

No, not my "solution" - this was posed as only a question. You are labeling $60K as "luxury pricing" - I can see your disconnect. Please don't misinterpret my question as suggesting that a Maverick is a Scout - certainly it is not.

What would best EV (s) to rent for a day

Why not rent an electric truck or SUV (since you are buying a Scout)! Looks like something like this would be $137 a day: https://turo.com/us/en/suv-rental/united-states/dallas-tx/rivian/r1s/2860657

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

We can disagree. We also aren't living in a fictitious upsidedown world. Nobody comes out of the gate building 200,000 units immediately within a 12-month window when launching a new company. There is an evolution. Scout must begin with something, and that something doesn't seem to be what you...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I respect your attempt at answering J Alynn. However, I do need to correct one factual error based on your statement above. You state that the "market - us - decides what a product is worth". By all accounts reading this repetitive thread, the market has validated and determined that Scout's...

    Launch Edition

Anyone with a first-generation new Scout will automatically become a default ambassador for the brand. The questions you will get when these trucks hit the roads and trails will be non-stop. It's not bad answering all the questions you get - I took it upon myself to help educate people (many...

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

To be clear - if this was an actual Rivian "ownership" issue, there would be a recall. Of course, the owner may have experienced isolated issues with that specific vehicle and/or that specific charger, but this is not something to be expected as an owner when charging an EV in the heat. I have...
