  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

This is also how I typically use the Driver+ system in my Rivian. I almost feel like the Driver+ system is intentionally conservative, it behaves like my sister in law driving. Everything is a potential danger. Driver + is probably providing "safer" operation of my truck when I use it (if I am...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Agreed. And considering other applications and similar engine and generator considerations, I was thinking 100-hour service intervals would make sense in this case too. TBD!

Harvester Battery Stage of Charge Question

I only see something like that happening if you (also) lost all charge in the 12V system. Then the truck would essentially be a brick and require a 12 V jump. Then you could fuel-up, then charge or engage Harvester, and then go. Will Scout even allow this scenario to happen in the first place...

    Wheel size options

Generally speaking, giant / wider snow tires have diminishing returns for snow and ice performance. I run these Nokians on my R1T for 5 months out of the year and have not found anything better for severe winter service. These are a little over 34 inches: Hakkapeliitta LT3 LT275/65 R 20...

Harvester Battery Stage of Charge Question

Maybe - Maybe not... Depends on a ton of variables, but if you are driving like a maniac and have variables working against you, you may need to get more gas if you skip a charge. This is where all the testing needs to come in for the Harvester variant to help demonstrate different real-world...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

What if the front was the back, and the back was the front? Imagine that render travelling in reverse.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

You're just driving too slow ;-)

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Where I live you are forced to clear your vehicle (or at least incentivized to do so) b/c you can be fined up to $200 if you don't. I have PPF on the hood for this reason and have one of these babies.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Here's my personal feeling on subscription costs. I understand and can appreciate that an OEM should not be eating costs for ongoing 3rd party services that they pay for (like WiFi/Connectivity/Satellite). That makes no sense. There are things that an OEM can do to KEEP CUSTOMERS HAPPY, and...

    Website updates

I think a simple, SEARCH box at the top would solve a lot of this. Search "Dimensions" -> BOOM.

Agreed. I think Scout will "handle" it better.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Then not sure what you're missing? Rivian just updated their scroll wheels and appears to have improved their design and made them easier to use... My only point was that if you don't have this type of U/I and interface, you might miss that there is a button push WITH the scroll wheel. We were...

I have had no complaints with the controls from the wheel on the R1T. These look like an improvement & do appear to be further integrated into the U/X

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'm not sure everyone realizes that the scroll wheels on the R2 steering wheel, are also "BUTTONS"... And those 2 buttons work for almost all the buttons and functions that you would most commonly use (as you scroll the wheel). You can simply scroll and press the scroll wheel - just like a...

    Off-topic stuff…

Looks like the Lordstown EV and the BYD Shark PHEV had a FUGLY competition, and they both won.

    Try before you buy?

When Rivian launched, they faced the same dilemma. They hadn't built out all their service center infrastructure, they didn't have test vehicles sitting in every state, they didn't have staffing to accommodate every person on the reservation list with a test drive. But, what they did have were...

    Try before you buy?

There will be PLENTY of buyers who will convert reservations and buy without a test drive. Scout will capitalize on that 100%. They will have events for people, but they will be scheduled and not everyone will be able to make them or be accommodated perfectly. in the future, it will be much...

    EREV initial release only?

They offered all colors, but certain paints and paint processes are more expensive for the OEM. I think LIMESTONE for example, added $1500.00. The Launch Green was a freebie and a limited color. Nice color too!
