  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I live for winter, but you've got to own it. If I wasn't able to enjoy it with skiing, pond hockey, fatbiking & escaping into the backcountry, it would probably own me and I'd move. Carolinas are awesome - some of the nicest people in the country, but I need New England Winter.

3 degrees? I've hit -21F on my infotainment thermometer. This was 2 weeks ago 2.5 hours into a trip:

    For starters, the state of MASS is approximately 190 miles from East to West. If you have 350 miles of range, Mass is hardly a problem for charging. This map is filtered on 150-350+kW chargers (CCS1, NACS & J1772 to be precise);

And now you know why they call it "FIGHTING LADY yellow" in the boat industry! Don't piss her off with peanut butter yellow! 👊

TERRA PURE BEV STILL HOLDING STRONG! 8.7% COMING OUT OF TURN 2!!! 🏁

It's a progression, and looks like Scout is following the playbook. Crawl, Walk, Run! Gotta get through the initial run, build credibility, trust and brand "re-awareness", then go for it. We should see an R2 competitor, but it will clearly take time.

Yep, agreed. I believe humans are intrinsically lazier and more brainwashed than ever before. I also blame all the complete suckers for clicking into stuff like this all day long... Just Don't do it! 🫣 Hopefully, there's still a chance we can return to an age of critical thinking (or at least...

Actually - I would be VERY surprised to see something like that on a Rivian TBH. Also, don't forget that there a bunch of Rivian owners here with Scout reservations who would actually love to see BOTH companies succeed. Even though I own an R1T, I see myself personally as having more Scout...

Well, Rivian owners are the worst! LOL. I'm happy you're not conflating a "sub-reddit thing" with all Rivian owners, b/c I don't even have a clue what they are talking about over there, or why they would think that would be a good thing - particularly given the JV and other more obvious...

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Yes, 100% - You just need to remember to charge up to 100% if you have a storm coming as part of your normal storm prep. One other important factor to consider is that the DCFC stations are often online in nearby locations to storm-impacted areas. This was the case in NC after their hurricane...

Harvester Battery Stage of Charge Question

I once drove for an entire day without charging my R1T... Of course, I was going much slower than normal due to a solar eclipse that was creating chaos in the north woods. I was hitting 4 mi/kWh easy! LOL

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I don't see this as a problem at all... If you don't want to use it, then simply DON'T USE IT! There's no mandate. And if you want BLIS, just turn it on. The great thing is that these things are all configurable and can be enabled or disabled, or selected as a setting.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

Tire wear from conserve mode on a Quad is simply a result of only running 2 high torque motors up front ,when daily driving around town mostly (with more turning and stopping, more acceleration and deceleration). Conserve mode is great on the Longer HWY runs, but I would never just use it for...

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

Yeah, they were in my old Silverado too... I just replaced the bulb. Was nearly impossible to get to the harness to do it, but cost me $5 bucks

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I don't even bother lowering on the HWY. The efficiency gains are so small, that they would not impact my next charging stop. Lowering also creates more negative camber over longer distances, so I only lower if I need to help someone get in or out of the truck now. Its just not worth the uneven...

BYD Shark PHEV Outsells Toyota HiLux in Australia

I'll take my R1T over that BYD anyday. I saw a few in Mexico over the Holidays and their proportions are the absolute worst of any truck mentioned. The fender flares are awful. The front end of my R1T has grown on me over time, and the profile of the truck is super clean on the front end. Scout...
