  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Make steering wheel sportier

in the cars I’ve driven with start stop buttons, tapping it while the car is in motion won’t shut it down, you’d have to hold it for several seconds which would trigger an emergency shutdown. Note that the ability to do this is one of the safety advantages of having the button. There was a...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I would be very tempted by the r2 if it weren’t for their anti-button aesthetic. Wassym leans heavily toward the minimalist Tesla style, which I don’t care for. But the r2 is a more appropriate size for my needs. I’m hoping that a similar scout model will come along before I’m too old to...

What's the deal with software issues in many newer expensive EVs?

This is a good example of why we need buttons. The folks who designed that software imagined what people do and essentially imposed that view on their software design. My wife and I typically both carry our keys and there is essentially 0 correlation between who gets in the car first and who...

Cruise Control Following Distance (and other assists)

I find it relives foot strain a lot, and it keeps me from accidentally going way too fast. With a smooth car, it’s way too easy to speed when there’s not much traffic around.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The big question for me: are they pumping cooled air through the seats or just cabin air? The first time I sat in a Kia with air straight from the ac coming through the seats was practically a religious experience.

Cruise Control Following Distance (and other assists)

I drive a Toyota with smart cruise, it has 3 settings like you describe. I think it always starts at the farthest setting, and I leave it there unless traffic gets heavy. If there’s a lot of traffic then other cars change lanes into the gap and the car keeps slowing down to increase said gap...
