  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

If it recall correctly it OnStar has various levels they offer based the age of the car and what it’s actually able to track, but I think it can tack mileage, turns, braking and seatbelt engagement, I’ve heard some can track your eyes and make sure your looking ahead with the super cruise...

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

Yeah, My partner had been with them for years and the offered the best price when we got the Bolt, but randomly upping the price on our EV like that was bridge burner. Luckily my provider I had when I owned the charger called that same month, they apparently changed some policy stuff regarding...

We were 3 months from policy renewal

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

State Farm was $150 a month for my Bolt EUV they, without warning, upped that price to $280, they wouldn’t or couldn’t tell us why (it wouldn’t have been mileage at the time as I only drove 36 miles a day 4 days a week, less than our volt). They didn’t change the price on our Volt. So we changed...

This make me hopeful we get some sort of external tire carrier for the Terra, I don’t really like underbody spares, and probably leave it at home unless road-tripping or adventuring

The connection is probably just scouts VW backing

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I think it got just a little confused

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Every GM, Ford, Ram, and Rivian I have driven that have auto highbeams aren’t speed based, they’re based on light facing the car (headlights tail lights street lights or even your own headlights reflecting off the back of a sign or glass pane) will cause them to deactivate. If the car determines...

Factory Pick Up - Cost and what does it include?

I feel like so long as your new car doesn’t burn down in a field on the way home you’ll be alright

    Traveler Spare Tire

Will it? I only recall seeing the mention of an underbody spare on the Terra, wither of which id happily give up for more battery, but that's just me

    Thoughts on Factory 37s

Here’s hoping for no “packages” and just having options, packages from the legacy companies are just about gouging you for money so you get things you don’t want or need to get other stuff you do at a greater cost

I’ll keep that in mind once we’re able to get in. Thank you!

    Favorite road tripping snack

We still haven’t been able to go, they’re overcrowded, and still have traffic guides by the road, who for some reason tried to direct me in as if the building owned the left lane of the road

    Favorite road tripping snack

We had one open here in town just before Christmas. I kept having to find new routes around because it was an hour plus delay.

I saw the demo for the underbody cameras, seems very interesting if it makes it to production as an option I’d very tempted

One of my friends parents traveled 9 hours just to go one, then complain it was too crowded. The one they went to was 2 hours from here, and when I go visit family It’s my preferred charging station, they have the nice Mercedes Chage point DCFCs and they’re usually a little cheaper than the EA...

I'm going to try to gas light myself about batteries and range

    As someone with a Z-Flip 6 I agree

    Don’t be shy, say hi!

Our reservations are just place holders, once orders go live and start being accepted then positions will be given properly, sine they’ll probably batch out pre orders, then first come first serve so to speak. Atleast that’s how I assume the conversation process will work

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Never noticed a change in temps in the garage now that we have 2 cars that charge l1 and L2 the only thing that makes the garage feel warmer is when there’s heat radiating off the body, our volt rarely gets parked after using the engine
