    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy.     I like the idea of Beadlock capable wheels. I had them on my Raptor, and the wheels on my TRX are Beadlock capable. I personally thinks they look cool.

    I think that was me, but I was referring to a 500 plus mile trip with two stops (20 ish minutes per stop). I’ll full on admit I’m still ignorant to the EV ways, and I’m trying to learn as much as I can. And some of that ignorance leads me to believe the Harvester is a better option for me...

    Your reasons are the same I’m sticking to the Harvester. I drive by multiple gas stations on the way to work, so filling up is not a big inconvenience. When I’m on the road I don’t want to have to stop for 30 minutes to charge.

    So the question I have is after all the months/miles of EV, would you consider the Harvester with the range extender, or is the pure EV still your preferred vehicle? You’ve got a lot of documented EV miles under your belt, so I’m just curious.

    The loop I planned was a little over 350 miles, and started and ended in Missoula. The stop in Darby looks the easiest to access on this map, and is roughly 60 miles into the drive.     I just did a big loop today as I played hookie on my birthday. I don’t see a pure EV being the right option for me in rural Montana. I made one stop to top off the tank in Wisdom to be safe, and was back on the road. I’m just too nervous about the lack of infrastructure in my area to go full EV.

    Apparently I’m in the minority here when it comes to mileage. As soon as a vehicle is close to 100,000 miles it goes away. I’m just not comfortable with my daily driver having that many miles on it.

    This is an interesting perspective with battery swaps. I’ve never put over 100,000 miles on a vehicle, so the swap of a battery at 200,000 miles is interesting.
