  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Initial Production Release

This is a very reasonable and thoughtful approach, which makes perfect sense for a new vehicle - particularly when taking into consideration that quality builds and first impressions will be so important. Thank you.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It's not really financially viable. Michigan spent $1.9MM for just 1 mile of wireless roadway as a pilot in 2023.

    EREV initial release only?

By way of a pure BEV truck comparison, my R1T has a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs and puts out 908 lb feet of torque. Pure BEV Terra will be a beast (even with 2 motors).

LOL I said "own" not LOL LOLLEASE.

    Must haves to purchase…

She should get that screen bezel wrapped at a detail shop
  6. R1TVT

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

Dang it... Pure BEV Terra dropped by .1 %. I'm actually OK with that and don't mind being in the bottom bracket!

    actual ranges before orders?

Nothing has changed. Promises = "PRODUCTION" (not prototypes and product development), it's still early days and they are still building a factory. Not sure why there is any confusion. Seems unreasonable to to think any differently at this stage in the game - I'll blame all the clickbait...

    EREV initial release only?

I don't think J Alynn was trying to implement thought control - rather just clean up the site a little. There are like 5 threads going on this garbage article. It's just more clutter from a clickbait-style rag making speculative statements (b/c China biz is tough and VW is an easy target).

    actual ranges before orders?

This is kind of a non-issue. Once you are able to convert a reservation to an order, you will already have production specs in hand, what am I missing? The production specs will include the range estimates for each variant.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

I'm sure that was scary -esp w/ kids , but glad all are safe. Did the airbags deploy?

    Ev Delay

Unless you ask almost anyone that actually owns one - LOL.

Scout Pricing and State Rebate Programs

Burning-in production models in the wild with some very rigorous testing will be key to moving the ramp up. With less testing, the likelihood of needing to make adjustments / change processes / adjust parts will increase. The ramp is the ramp, that is going to take time - time on the line, time...

What do we think is going to happen on the 24th of October?

Hallmark Holiday for sure. I am cool with any new inspiration from photos, estimated specs or or results of any initial testing that has been done. Cold weather is coming. Maybe we'll learn more about those results. All good - Stay focused, grasshopper!

    What’s your hobby

I have some Metz hackles for sure! Legendary stuff. (y) A lot of my saltwater stuff uses synthetic materials too - we tie a lot of baitfish, squid. anchovies, etc.

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

All trade-offs... Ride Comfort / Durability On-Road / Off-Road Height Adjustments / Static height Camp Mode Levelling / Piling up rocks under one wheel Etc,. etc, etc, I think the main reason why they stuck with it is because on road ride quality is really good with air AND you can take...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

I would say this is where Rivian has had to invest time & spend more $$$ in their services centers - addressing issues with the joints and half-shafts wearing prematurely or creaking and creating gremlins. Why? There is a great amount of travel and ride height adjustment (with air) that can be...

    What’s your hobby

One of the more interesting things about Stoddards was the seemingly random flyfishing section tucked into the corner of the store. It was managed by a guy named Phil Klug, and it was considered the oldest and longest running tackle store in the USA at one point (over 200 years). Early in my...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

To think they squandered their early innovation lead in Hybrids. Goes to show you what can happen when your CEO kowtows to the O&G lobby in Japan for years on end. I used to love my old Toyota's, but I won't own one again. And, even better, Scout is made in the USA.

    List Price

This is a benefit of D2C sales. Scout sets a price, and it is the price. No middlemen, no haggling, no BS. If Scout does a PROMO, everyone can get it on the promo - the D2C model enables Scout to be more efficient with pricing. Good for Scout and good for the buyer.
