  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

^^^ THIS^^^ Ideally, owning a BEV and a home solar array and a battery storage system or powerwall for your home would be ideal state. Add a well for water and you are basically set for life! Now, if we could get paybck periods for such things to be reduced by 50% or so, a lot more people...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Chuckers on 22's are not for me personally, but that combo looks very familiar based on the sidewall height of that KO3. This combo was seen on someone's R1T:

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Even though I would never want the EREV, I'm sort of a fan of Scout for providing the EREV option as a bridge to EV ownership for certain people that are fence sitters. Since many Americans have never owned or experienced an EV yet, the EREV is one way to help those buyers cross the chasm if...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I'm guessing that seats are very personal based on your body type and the amount of adjustability you get with the seat design and functions. I'm sure there is a ton of R&D that has lead to advances in seating, but yes, if you want to fold flat, you might need to give up that extra "padding" and...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

This Satellite connectivity announcement was from CES 2025:

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Doubtful Scout will build a proprietary Nav system - that would be a tremendous waste of resources. I would think it would be more likely in the form of a partnership with another company to serve up other Nav Apps as optional (think CalTopo) with off-line maps in the infotainment system so you...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

Ah, understood, yes, it is very nice to have a big screen for video and nav. Looks like Scout has that covered, but it should not prevent you from also tethering another device. I tether my Iphone and use Waze in the background in my R1T all the time (for alerts and to see how my route compares...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I guess I've been thinking 350 was already a bit of a stretch (based on estimated battery size and targeted cost). With a larger battery pack and a larger price tag, you could get there for sure. Considering that the vehicle is a truck (less aerodynamic) with larger wheels and tires AND...

Where did Scout say 420? I may have missed that one, and I am basing my decision on the Terra BEV going for an estimated 350 mile range:

    Ev Delay

Agreed - whatever ball was dropped is a giant mystery to me. Some people seem to be buying-in to the SPAM articles all over the internet - most of which are just pay-to-play click-baiters looking for eyeballs... That is the only thing I can think of. I will believe what Scout tells me (not a...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I'm not sure I understand - what do you mean by "tether an iPad to Scout's navigation"? What is the use case? Are you trying to display something on the Scout infotainment screen? Are you trying to "take over" the navigation screen with something other than Scout's own navigation app?

    Harvester towing

One exception would be if you own a boat and tow. A boat loaded with ice, fuel, gear, safety equipment etc can be rather "hefty". This is actually a perfect use case for an EV truck if you tow a lot locally. My R1T tows like a dream.

    Initial Production Release

This is all accurate & to be expected. If Scout would build out each vehicle in the exact order that they were reserved, they would lose a ton of coin and time. I personally ordered my R1T well ahead of a friend, AND I can absolutely confirm that his R1T was delivered ahead of mine. Only...

Please allow for the use tire chains

LT3's are "studdable", but I run them studless. The design of the tread, the added sipes, the cold-specific tire compound and the tire's ability to grip, stop and shed snow are unbeatable. I try to spend as much of my winter free-time outdoors and would go insane indoors all winter. Time spent...

Please allow for the use tire chains

Not a chain guy, but my Winter wheels and dedicated winter tires go on this week. Huge fan of running Nokians (Hakka LT3's), but could be an entire thread on the subject of snow tires alone

    Ev Delay

As was mentioned earlier, EV battery recycling hasn't really been a "thing" yet. Most EV batteries simply have not been in deployment long enough to even be considered for recycling, or reached their end-of-life and are still in service. This is a growing sector, and EV battery recycling...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Well, I guess we can look at the bright side - at least we won't have to see that in person. Man, that is one butt-ugly car. Looks like a Sedan that thought about becoming station wagon (or took design cues from Walter White), then managed to run out of design money and wound up getting stuck...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

If you want to really "geek out" and see how charging curves and energy really impact driving (out on a road trip) this will give you a LOT of information on this subject (albeit with a Rivian R1T). BUT it is notable since Scout will be taking advantage of Rivian's Zonal Architecture. I have...

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

if your primary use case is towing, I would get a diesel HD p/u. If you occasionally tow, you need to weigh all the time saved NOT going to a gas station (assuming you would have a home charger or don;t need to charge at a DCFC) VERSUS some additional time and towing stops in an EV when do...
