  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Yes. I think modern EV's come well-equipped with a ton of additional safety features (built right in). I'm guessing a lot of gas station surveillance doesn't always operate properly, and the help, well, not always helpful. If you leave your truck to charge at a DCFC, many sentry features (in my...

What accessories would the supplier park install?

Of course a lot of this could be installed at home too, but here are some things: Upgraded wheels / tires Rock sliders / Running Boards Racks + Rack accessories for bikes, skis, kayaks, cargo etc Rubber Floor Mats Winch PPF / Tint / Stripes Cargo stuff / Backpack / Toolbox Perhaps optional LED...

Yes, I can 100% understand that perspective, and there's good news... A large majority of DCFC locations (on the East Coast at least) are likely situated in much safer locations than many other places where carjackings would be more likely to occur (whether it be in an EV or an ICE vehicle)...

So, I have never worried about carjackings since I graduated. I was on the Ski Team at the University, and we had a Ski Coach who turned 80 while I was there. He was one of the more influential characters in our lives and our team had so many incredible stories from our years with him on the...

I appreciate everyone's perspective. Maybe we should just start a thread on the "The Very BEST DCFC Locations for Charging"... Plugshare already does this in the app essentially, so for those that don't already have an EV or use Plugshare, that can be a good resource if traveling somewhere...

Like I said, I'm def not taking anything away from anyone that has felt threatened, or has legitimate concerns. I guess I feel like most of my charging spots either sit next to a Dunkin', a Walmart, a Chipotle, a Wegmans or a WaWa. Then again, I realize convenience stores don't always draw the...

I guess FUD sells? But how does your EV eject button work when your done charging and you wheel your groceries back to the car? When you need to use a restroom? When you eat at a restaurant? I have charged all along the Jersey Turnpike on my way to the mid-Atlantic and have never had a remotely...

WTF is that? NO. Why would anyone buy one of those? Even if someone was creeping around your car, you could always call the cops if you felt like you were endangered. The reality? How many times have you felt endangered unplugging your car or truck? Probably the same number of times you have...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

PPF or Paint Protection Film in certain areas will add much more protection than ceramic, and has self-healing properties. You can also coat PPF with a ceramic finish. High touch or high impact areas from stone chips, bugs, ice or snow are good areas for PPF. I applied completely clear PPF to...

Is there anything that would make you switch from the BEV to the EREV?

I'd cancel without the pure BEV option. It would be very hard to go back to putting gas in a truck. Would seem like taking a big step backwards at this point for me (that's with ~55K+ miles on my R1T). I would likely just wait for a 3rd Gen R1T. My hope would be that the Gen 3 R1T would be...

Agreed 100% on the R2 (but I guess they have 200K pre-orders or something like that, and haven't opened real ordering). I can see some design cues from cars like the golf, Audi A3, the 1990's Scirroco and / or WRX in the R3X. The R3X would be a killer Golf replacement.

Sure, but Rivian's strength as an OEM and as a SW provider aren't mutually exclusive, and they are a new company. They changed the OEM and EV landscape by innovating and delivering the world's first production electric truck. They created competition. They improved the offerings of other OEM's...

Sure - if you just look at the financial numbers and not take into perspective their timeline or business objectives, you could think that. But, you don't STOP making cars if your goal is to make cars, simply because you are spending money to get your brand established and bring your second...

That is about to change with R2... I would think going mainstream with R2 will really be impactful, but the Last mile / Fleet opportunity for the vans has to be huge too. That is something to watch, especially as new entrants start purchasing vans beyond Amazon & leveraging fleet software.

    Ev Delay

Posting up Rivian Tow data straight from the source for R1S and R1T if it helps with any comparisons - these would ONLY be somewhat comparable to a PURE BEV Scout Terra or Traveler. These would obviously not be comparable when considering the Harvester: What is the maximum towing capacity...

    Jeep Recon

I should reiterate that I also think the K03 will be an excellent tire (and never said that they would not be a good tire) - particularly where you have people that do not want to swap out for winter severe snow service rated tires. In fact I would say that they could be the first or second best...

You're also not dealing with elevations or mountain passes + freeze / thaw gravel and mud in the springtime I'm guessing, in which case you would be perfectly fine. I'm in a situation where a storm can blow in and I will be driving for 2+ hours to get to where I need to be, and roads aren't even...
