  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

Agreed - You can do it today, but it doesn't make a ton of sense for many reasons, and agreed, your edge case is a good one for the Harvester.

    Engine in the Harvester - EA211 ?

Correct, if Scout offered a pure-EV mode with the harvester config, the burden would be on the driver to enable that mode, and to accept the consequences that come with enabling it. A driver would need to understand that if they drive to a low SOC, they may need to wait for the Harvester to...

You can kill the app and that won't happen.

    Pilot Builds in 2026?

Those frankensteins were the mules I was referring to... I was thinking that the prototype would look like the R1T prototypes, which were very close to pilot and production R1T's. All speculation of course!

    Engine in the Harvester - EA211 ?

Yes, it absolutely should, and just as any other Pure EV would... Without a functioning Harvester generator, the truck would likely pop-up a warning message "Harvester requires immediate service" & require external charging of course (without the generator producing power). The opposite would...

    Pilot Builds in 2026?

This is a pretty good methodology (caveat being that I am not an engineer and do not work for an OEM). I would say Scout is through the Concept Confirmation phase of this. My only point was that before "Pilot" with real vehicles to flesh out those assembly issues, we would likely see a prototype...

    Pilot Builds in 2026?

My guess would be that they meant to use the word PROTOTYPE. I would envision the 2026 prototype vehicles to appear very much like the current builds, have a real-drive train + battery pack, resemble the production interiors that have been shown (with possible tweaks to materials based on...

Someone called it "Purple Range" but I think the official color name is "Borealis". A "deep, dark metallic plum, with deep black tones"

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

Actually you can carry an equivalent range value of electrons, but it is a very pricey endeavor at this stage (new / expensive technology either through a generator or through a mobile or offroad/trailerable battery pack). I think this use-case of needing extended range where there is zero...

Trying to understand size, especially interior.

FWIW - Sitting inside a F-150 compared to the R1T feels much more spacious (as it should). The R1T feels just slightly bigger than a Tacoma double cab interior, for comparison, but the F-150 is noticeably more spacious, being Full-sized... If you were to drive the R1T and then a F-150, you...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Not necessarily true. It depends on how often you start and stop AND SIT IDLE, and can save more in city conditions with traffic lights. If you are sitting idle and not running the engine, you can also make the argument over time that there is less wear and tear on the engine itself. So while...

    Rivian Rs2 vs Scout Traveler

If you recall, the OP does not currently own a Rivian (reading thru prior negative Rivian posts). Yes - this would absolutely be a warranty issue that Rivian would fix for any owner. I had a problem with adhesive on one of my door seals, and it was fixed in my driveway. This could be a...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

After just yanking 8 mounted snow tires on 20's out of my basement to get swapped, I would not advise putting a HEAVY wheel and tire combo on any roof - esp one with a glass or cabana top! Also, yes, range would be a problem and wind noise too...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

Not crazy at all, and we have discussed that as a possibility here (around the time the JV got announced). The only issue would be scaling and acquiring enough new techs to support all the new business, but it is a model that could work. Rivian would not want to get negative feedback on dealer...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

While Rivian basically kept deliveries in the same "general order" they did appear to produce & deliver similarly spec'd vehicles in batches coming off the assembly line to increase efficiency (smart). They also needed to assemble and schedule delivery teams & line-up fleet transport to get...
  16. R1TVT

    actual ranges before orders?

Not sure how you feel, but in my experience, Rivian does a great job with their range estimates based on your driving, SOC and wheel and tire choices. That should bode well for Scout, and I would add that under "normal" driving conditions with a mix of HWY and City driving, the estimates should...

Why the door handles/locks should not be purely electric...

Not to add to much complexity here, but just to be clear on the Rivian set up... The LOCKS operate electronically (like they would in an ICE vehicle). The EXTERIOR flush door handles open electronically (they pop out and present themselves for opening when unlocked), however, when you pull a...

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

So - here's the thing. This is a very low likelihood occurrence. Most chargers have receptacles, and most charge ports have doors. So, this is unlikely, but not impossible. What is more likely for those in cold weather is that you could get to a charger that has warmed and either was not put...

One Giant Leap Into the World of EV Ownership

Congrats to you and your wife - sounds like a successful trip! One thing that will come with experience is not worrying about your final leg if you have anything more than 5%SOC. The comfort around understanding your consumption and distance remaining based on current SOC will increase with...
