  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I am exactly one of those that originally wouldn't even consider the BEV Scout. Just the fact that the reveal emphasized the new Scout as an EV, even with the Harvester option, it delayed my preorder (I just missed the early adopter window by a few days). I think my original negative viewpoint...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Likely it is too early to panic about this, but on the other hand, if SM were to adopt this profit strategy over consumer relations, it would truly eff everything that they have done to gain consumer trust and strong consumer relationships. It just seems that would be totally opposed to their...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This is a dreadful trend. I despise this as much as I despise having to buy a car from a dealership. If it is a MUST to pay for performance then give me a lifetime option as you would pay for a larger engine on an ICE vehicle. Subscriptions tend to cost the owner more and more over time. Why do...

    Home Charger Reviews and FAQs

Thank you for taking the time to educate us. I'm a retired electrical engineer and love this stuff. You have answered several questions that I had pondered but not yet tried to find answers. Who says you can't teach an old dog... :ROFLMAO:

    Rear AC in the roof

My 2001 Sequoia has overhead cooling in the back. It does have a sliding sunroof, so no good way to channel air from front to back overhead. Air is circulated through a separate cooling core in the very back passenger side cargo area and up through the D pillar. Passengers in the 2nd row have...

Scout II Restoration Updates! - Colton Stevens

Wow! What a beauty! It's got me trying to figure out how to restore mine while I wait for my new one. I would think for those that aren't interested in a Scout EV that this would be the perfect alternative. But the ultimate would be to own BOTH old restored and brand new. Seeing your project...

    CYURE GOES TO NATIONALS!!! Yay!!!

Same. As long as I can call one of them my own, I'll be happy. Maybe most others will select the typical white, silver, gray or black. I think you and I are far enough apart that we would rarely run into each other.

    Animal Kingdom

I saw the show a while back and was really excited when the Scout showed up. I liked the color so much, I contemplated repainting mine the same. I thought about posting about that Animal Kingdom Scout but didn't take the time to do it. Thanks for posting!

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I get it. It does look good on the trucks.

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Well my 1979 International Scout has automatic locking hubs and for me it has been a great fit with no failures. As for the manuals, I have a true life story where a buddy of mine ran his 4x4 a little too deep into the lake one night. He crawled over onto the hood trying to reach his manual hubs...

WHAT??? You mean there are more colors available than white, gray, silver and black??? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: (Oh no...I just noticed my old Scout and boat...all the colors of the rainbow...in B&W)

    CYURE GOES TO NATIONALS!!! Yay!!!

The familiar throwback analog speedometer was one of the first things I spotted when seeing the interior early on. I hope SM goes as far as carrying over the other gizmos of the original speedometer cluster including the rolling odometer (maybe even leave off the 100,000 digit ), turn...

    Scout Color Poll #1

I am afraid that the truck you saw was definitely repainted as seen by the rubber gasket just above the windshield. The truck apparently was painted with the top on. Since it has been repainted it may not be true to its original color. Here is a clip from the 1976 brochure of the Terra. Of...
