  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I got my email late yesterday as well. I'd already added and updated my address prior to the email coming to me. Looking forward to seeing what it will be.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I’m a BEV reservation holder but I would think for a SHTF scenario the EREV would be better since you have two options. If gas is out you can still charge it, albeit not go as far as the BEV before needing to recharge and if electricity is out and you have access to gas supplies you can use that...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

I haven’t received any emails either but I have now logged into my reservation and added my address on the pop up prompt.

    Plug in hybrid.

Isn't that what the Harvester is for? Seems a lot of development cost would be needed to use a much more powerful ICE engine and lose the frunk to go to a more traditional plugin hybrid solution, for in my eyes at least, no real added benefit.

    Software Features

In my car at least, the charge port can be opened by just pressing on it, car wash mode stops that from happening and locks the charge port so if you're either in a car wash or just using a pressure washer it won't open the charge port. It would also auto close any windows in case they were down...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

That's the key these days, clicks make money, whether what is being reported on is 100% correct or if it's targeted correctly. Two examples from me recently from suggested items on facebook that I got that I clicked on wondering what was happening. I live in Lancaster, PA and got a news article...

    FB find of the day

We have a current Telluride and that has the same color interior as well. I really like it, but I wonder if I would want two vehicles with the same color. Then again, we’ve had two black interiors before (current other vehicle has white interior now which I also love).

59 Months (and counting) of EV driving...

If nothing is being used I would think pretty much the same. I parked in Quebec City last year and didn’t move my Tesla for 36 hours. The temperature ranged from 0 to -30 and I went from 59% charge to 58% charge. Once I got in and started driving again it was obviously way less efficient than if...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

This is the key thing in my opinion. All they have really said about towing was when Scott said 5k in that one video. It might change for both vehicles or maybe the Terra EREV will be higher than the Traveller EREV when specs are finalized. Based on other non EV trucks vs SUVs the trucks have...

The Terra looks nice in the gray. I think it will look good in that emerald green color as well. They would be on my consideration list if available, I think my favorite for the Terra is still a deep red color.

    PBY (Pale Butter Yellow)

Maybe it could be part of a special heritage edition of colors or something. Also, the gas cap on the third image down, did AI add that or was it already on the vehicle?

Yeah that’s what I say in my head every time I see it as well!

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Hopefully they’ll have good entertainment options. I can watch Netflix and also have YouTube TV for live TV in my Tesla which is great. I use that when my wife goes into clothes or makeup stores while we’re out shopping so it’s useful even when not charging 😂

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

If that is true (and not being replaced by something else) then that will be one less competitor against the Terra. Shame if it is though, I quite liked the Lightning.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I haven't been to any, or fully read into the Walmart chargers other than I'm aware they're doing it. Do you know if they will be putting both NACS and CCS cables on their chargers from the get go? The more stations between now and then that have both or just NACS the better to save needing...

If Scout actually beat RAM to market with the EREV that wouldn't actually surprise me with how many delays RAM have had on this. Ford could be a potential competitor, but I think the Lightning will definitely need to have a good refresh by 2028 in order to compete with Scout.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I assume if it has a similar maintenance schedule of ICE cars of say 5,000 miles / 6 months that it will have to log how many miles are done with the engine running. I imagine a lot of people would be based on time rather than miles driven since a lot of day to day driving will be on EV only...

Test drove a couple Wranglers today…

I test drove a Cybertruck a couple of months ago while my car was getting inspected. The one I drove didn't really have any rattles. It was quick and pretty comfortable, but driving it just felt weird, I don't know how to describe what the issue was, it just felt strange to drive compared to...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I am going with BEV but I do have a question linked to what would it take to switch from EREV to BEV like free home charger installation. I'm curious, for those who are planning on the EREV, are you planning on installing L2 home charging, or just using the L1 charging through the standard wall...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This is what I will be interested to see as well, how much is the difference from a potentially smaller battery pack to the largest and what is the range/cost difference between the two. I don't think they necessarily need a 200+ kWh battery like the Silverado, but having at least 150 kWh...
