  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Industry-leading DCFC charge rate and battery warranty

It’d be interesting to see a 0-100% charging curve with time in the x axis.

    Initial Production Release

Of course, what’d be really cool, given the longevity of scouts, is if say after 10 or 12 years you could replace your old battery with a new tech battery, and keep the old scout going for a good long time.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Seems like I heard they’re talking about not giving those out anymore. Dunno if that means you have to pay for them or if they’re not making them soon.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

They could use an electric motor, then they’d finally have a rotary that doesn’t burn oil 🤣

I like those better than slate, though I’d be happy if either succeeded

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yeah, but you’re assuming that the full length of the roadway is instrumented, which is hugely expensive and means power delivered along hundreds of miles, and you’re not the only car on the road, so to give everyone 25kw it’s gonna add up fast. Not to mention that stationary wireless charging...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I love the idea but I can’t imagine it working well. If I can do some math 🤣, just imagine you’re going 60mph (a mile a minute), you’d have to have 5 miles of very expensive road just to get a 5 minute charge, and I’m sure you’re not getting a high power fast charge from it. Im all for...

I love the way the mustang looks, but the Subaru has door handles!

You’re lucky it didn’t put 1 door on front side and 1 on the back side 🤣

    EREV initial release only?

I can’t listen right now, what did he say?

    actual ranges before orders?

My recollection/understanding of Hyundai/kia software is that when you set regen to 0, it also disables regen on the brake pedal, ie I when you’re in that mode you only get friction brakes. That never made sense to me, am I confused about that? I like coasting when I take my foot off the gas...

Hmm, kinda like being a teenager at a party and all my friends are passing pills around . . . Peer pressure 🤣

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

Can you explain how a solid axle leads to better articulation? That seems counterintuitive, given that it seems like there would be fewer constraints on an independent system. I understand the fulcrum bit, that makes more sense to me but I’m confused by the articulation thing.

    What’s your hobby

Agreed. The 90s were basically yesterday. It’s one of those wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey things.

    Make steering wheel sportier

I want to be in control of when the vehicle is on or off, not some AI, or algorithm or interpretation of my actions or intent or body position. Just because I open the door, or sit down, or inadvertently tap a pedal doesn’t mean I want the car on, and just because I stand up or exit the vehicle...
