  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

I like this color combo, especially the interior. My wife just bought a new Telluride which is dark blue exterior with terracotta interior and that also looks great. Although, I don't really want two vehicles with the same sort of color combination so I'll probably go with something else.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

This would be my approach as well. Of course if you want EREV more for towing than anything else, then I would probably look at the Ram REV when it comes out as that seems to be less oriented to off road and much better for towing.

What goodies have you gotten from a dealer/manufacturer after purchasing a car

Nothing really, although my wife just bought a new Kia Telluride and we got an unexpected check for $68 and after agreeing to the payment terms, when we came back to pick it up they were $11 a month lower so that was a nice bonus.

    Bigger frunk

It is their biggest EV, it only opens up kind of in the middle area so there seems to be a lot of wasted space around it. I assume how they have the electronics and other stuff in the front must mean there isn't much room left for a large frunk.

    Higher Range

I always think charging speed is more important than overall range once you at least get to 300 miles of range anyways. I've watched a few videos on road trips where a vehicle with bigger range loses to a lower range vehicle that can charge much quicker.

    Bigger frunk

With how the frunk currently is, which to me seems massive, I can't see how you could make it any bigger without redesigning the entire front and making the whole vehicle bigger. We looked at a Kia EV9 the other week, now that's a small frunk!

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I know at least the Tesla wall connectors can load share if you have two of them off the same 60A circuit. I believe you can set them so one could do higher than the other as well rather than just a 24/24 split. When we get our Scout we may well be a 2 EV vehicle household at that point but I...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Looks good, although I was originally debating going with the 33” wheels over the 35” but now I see the 37” I think I might have to at least get the 35” wheels.

    Rivian Tire Swap Function

I'd be surprised if that's accurate, or maybe against the loudest tire they could find. I know when my tires needed replacing I just went to Costco and got Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires which don't have foam and although it is slightly louder it's barely noticeable.

    Terra - Roof Top Option

I’m still debating between sunroof and solid roof for similar reasons. I think I’m just going to wait until release and see how they both look and make sure I can have the same options with and without the sunroof and make my mind up then. I also need to figure out if I’m keeping this for a long...

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

I think it will also come down to how many spare parts Scout has available after the initial launch along with how expensive each panel is to fix. If someone needs a new fender or door after an accident and it takes a couple of months to get a spare part it's going to drive up costs, especially...

Luxury features I would like to See

I hope it’s not 100c in your office, that seems a little on the boiling side! 😅

Luxury features I would like to See

I can't cope with that either, it's the humidity that kills me. I've been in Palm Springs and Phoenix in July with temperatures ranging from 105-118 which I could still cope with, but in humid places, once it gets past like 80 I'm struggling.

How would you build your Scout?

I’ve never been a fan of yellow on trucks and large vehicles but that looks awesome.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

I doubt any would do that while driving. My Tesla certainly doesn’t. If you were not moving and took the seat belt off and lifted off the seat it might put it from drive into park, I can't remember, but definitely not while driving.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

Well in the emergency situation of a tornado or something needing a quick exit no button is better because you just get out and it turns off without having to press anything.
  17. Chaz26

What does the base model look like to you?

I’d be thinking maybe: -cloth/vinyl seats -no memory seats -no heated or ventilated seats -lower sound system quality/less speakers or sub. -33” wheels maybe with all season rather than off road tires -less options in the infotainment screen and possibly a smaller screen -smaller battery maybe...

    Battery Range Exrender

I’d worry how easy it is to add a range extender. Let’s not forget that Tesla had that for preorder on the Cybertruck and they must have had some issue either on cost or workability that made them cancel it. It would also be large and heavy if it’s going to add any meaningful range. Otherwise a...

    Harvester towing

If you use BMI (which I know is not fully reliable as a healthy weight guide) then if you are 6’4 or taller then being 150lbs would be an unhealthily low weight. You can also be just over 150lbs at 5’6 and still be a healthy weight according to BMI so plenty of healthy people are never going to...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

For me it’s two taps to do that or one voice command against hundreds of times not having to press a button for no reason when I get in to drive or when I get out so worth it for me.
