  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    An Appreciation Post for Jamie

Critical thinking about whether inanimate objects can have their own political leanings can be very difficult for some.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Theoretically it could if it was completely covering the glass with a bin or something. I was thinking about loading heavier or awkward things on the roof. First thing that popped into mind was mountain bikes and having one tip while trying to load it, then the handlebars smashing through the...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Love it all, but definitely would not be having a roof rack over a glass roof. That's inviting a smashed roof in my world, would be difficult to clean, and would reduce efficiency. Would love to see a rack over the bed at some point though. The aftermarket will take care of some of that, so not...

    0-60 times with harvester

That would definitely be more pronounced on 18's with those KO3's!

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

I love the exterior color, well done Scout! I am still trying to wrap my mind around some of the interior color choices. I love the textures and i think I like the tan interior accents and color used for the top of the seats. I would prefer to see a seat that was all tan (not two-tone) so hoping...

    0-60 times with harvester

I got stuck behind an Audi driver yesterday that wanted to control the speed limit for everyone in the left lane, and wanted nobody to pass. You know the "thou shalt not pass type", you use your blinker get over in the right lane since they aren't leaving the left lane (when you have an opening)...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Do we know yet if the roof rack can be mounted over the bed of the Terra? Concept looks great, I would be curious to see what a 20" version of that wheel looks like also, but the 18's look great with a slight nod to the old Steelies.

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Maybe Sean Barber can be Brad Pitt's stunt double for F1 V2...

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Hahahaha. I was just getting really confused b/c I was saying there was an efficiency penalty, but you were saying that I was the only one saying that there wasn't one! All good (y)

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Why don't you think there will be any penalty? Or, are you just saying you can choose to ignore physics and science? Which, yes, I guess you would be right about. BTW, I'm not trying to by "right or wrong" - just demonstrating through the comparisons that in the real world tires and wheels WILL...

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Published range numbers will become an important consideration for buyers (once the configurator is launched), so if Scout Motors offers 2 or 3 different OEM tire / wheel combos, buyers will make different buying choices based on estimated range and efficiency numbers that get published, and...

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

Totally agree that you can have smaller diameter / super loud tires... You can't ignore physics and science when you increase size, weight, profile, etc. If people are going to run 37's, by all means go nuts! But you'd be kidding yourself if you didn't think there would be a tangible penalties...

Im more of a 37" tire guy, are we going to need a lift kit or will these squeeze in?

I'm a little surprised there isn't more talk about efficiency, but I also understand that the reason for up-sizing is really related to very specific off-road uses cases where efficiency may be less important. I'm guessing that the efficiency and performance penalty for swapping to 37's would be...

    Single Touch Window Controls

YES, the truck controls from the app are as follows: Vent windows / Close open windows Sound alarm Open / close hood Drop Tailgate Open right gear tunnel Open left gear tunnel Open / Close charge port door The Vent windows function does not allow a full remote roll-down... I'm guessing that...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

But what if you could just turn the whole entire frunk into a deep fryer for wings???

    Single Touch Window Controls

Good news: Rivian does this (and also does remote window roll-up from the app), so I would expect we will see Scout do the same, but TBD

    Size comparison

If the bed of the R1T was about a foot longer and the rear window rolled down, it would be near perfect! Your Comanche is sweet, but we also need to remember that a 2500 is typically a work truck & tow vehicle. Some use cases for the 2500 would obviously be tough or impossible for a Comanche to...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

In terms of LII+, we should consider that the tactile, hands-on and connected driving experience for Scouts is important for certain key aspects of driving - things like off-roading, rock crawling, windy country gravel roads, oversand on the beach, working around the farm or yard, etc. But...

Scout Motors Needs to Rethink “Local” Service. Don't do the Tesla model.

Yes, to be clear, this is the longest I have ever had to wait for local service, AND it is not a full indication of what is happening across the board obviously... Not sure what wait times are like at other Rivian SC's right now.
