  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    FB find of the day

I used to like saying. "I hope Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook merge someday. That merger should be called "YouTwitFace". Sadly, Twitter has been renamed, and "YouXFace" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, nor does "FaceYouXTok".

    FB find of the day

So, as someone who stopped using facebook over a decade ago, I must say, I legit forgot that there were even ads on facebook. Given, my memory is dimmed with time. And, even then, I used adblockers. But I don't remember advertisements by businesses at all on the platform. *And yes my head is...

    Bigger frunk

Maybe I should have said "downside"? :D I agree, I'd bet for a good chunk of forum members, that would be considered a high priviledge. You can be the Pre-Production human measurement unit, and SM can fly you out to all of the events, and you can do important work like: Lay down in the back of...

    Bigger frunk

Well, this is hilarious, and excellent. I approve of this. Glad to share a community with people that think like this (and I mean this in the best way possible). There is one potential downside for you though. You may have to become the official measuring stick of frunk space. And... you might...

    Bigger frunk

These are both super helpful, thank you. Fun fact (that I just looked up). The F150 Lightning has more storage space in the frunk, than a Honda Civic Sedan has in the trunk (by 0.7 cu ft).

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Yeah, my brain isn't seeing how this can work. Maybe the lid comes out another way? One thing I'm pretty sure of, is that bull bar doesn't look like it hinges forward :). But, it could mean that the bumper, or the frunk have been changed, and they just can't tell us yet. I could see that being...

    Bigger frunk

Second the motion. And if so, which TV show can we get SM to collaborate to subtly showcase this? I'm behind the times on murder mystery shows. But something that is like NCIS, Bones, Psych, Castle, or anything like that, and that could be a hilarious subtle marketing campaign :P.

    Bigger frunk

Ohh, nice context. Visually that is quite a bit smaller than the Scout. Yet I'd venture to say that that is probably larger than average. That got me curious. Here is the copilot answer. So my guess of the Ioniq 9/EV9's frunks being sort of "average" sized seems at least close? Although on...

    Higher Range

I think 300-350 is about the minimum that I'd want in a vehicle. Especially considering the normal "buffer" you want to keep, and the effects of weather/speed. Here is a copy paste of a post of mine in another thread. I did a ~840 mile road trip (~1700 mile round trip, each leg of 840 miles...

    Bigger frunk

To be honest, the frunk on the scout seems larger than almost any other frunk I've seen. Most EV's seem to have a frunk somewhere closer to the size of the Kia EV9/Hyundai Ioniq 9 (1.8 -2.8 cu ft). With some having none, and some having larger. And while we don't know the total dimensions on...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Thank you so much for the clarification, we really appreciate it :). And, we love that you're still listening to our (speculative, often wildly speculative) opinions and feedback. From the photos, that sort of boggles my mind how that could be true (the slider seems to be barely above the...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

I hadn't done the exact comparison, but, this was exactly my worry, and what my gut was saying. I don't think I was in the market for the bull bar anyway, so perhaps its a "I'm not the target market" sort of thing. But it is worth noting that it doesn't look like it would work for that use case.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

So, first, while I've not been as active lately (work and life are BUSY), I am still actively lurking here every day. Finally taking the time to respond. Exterior color Not a fan admittedly, the color of the paint itself, is sort of hard to see (lots of the photos have high reflection)...

Option for no tire on back.

Yeah, afaik, this was already a "known thing". That the spare tire carrier for the Traveller is supposed to be removeable at the very least. This is important to me, because in the parking space that I have available in my garage, the traveller will fit with the spare tire carrier removed...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

They have a nice value proposition in some use cases. Specifically, if you typically operate in a small local area most of the time, but still also drive long distances and want to refuel quickly at times as well. I've had a Hyundai Tucson PHEV for 3 years now. It has a 30-33 mile EV range, and...

Agreed. I saw this one yesterday, and thought it was relatively well done.

    Spare tire discussion

Hey, I said "can" rotate in if you want, not that you have to! If you want to keep that spare nice and shiny, go ahead. As I get it, it does look nice when its all clean/new looking :). Actually most of the time I drove a wrangler, the spare... never matched. It was always like some used tire...

    Spare tire discussion

Yeah, running long term with a spare that is undersized, will create additional wear and tear (at very least on the tire). For the context of a space saver sort of spare tire, thats probably ok, as its not really intended to be a normal everyday tire, just enough that it can get you out of...

    Spare tire discussion

Bah. I hate things that stay enabled, when you "disable" them. At least just say "can't fully disable, but now you're in the lowest setting" so I know what to expect. Wheelspeed/wheelspin is an important asset in some offroading situations. Like in mud/sand. And other times, while sort of...

    Spare tire discussion

Fair point. Mechanically there are no issues, but there could be other issues. However, I'd hope/assume (and I thought had been confirmed, but maybe I'm halucinating??) that in a vehicle like the Scout, we'd have the ability to turn off the traction control completely? If not, then a "I just...
