  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Recline flat rear bench

The front seat folding flat would help out white a bit for options to carry larger objects like kayaks, surfboards, or other stuff like that. But I’m also hopefull for a flat floor as well.

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

Yay more photos! Always happy to see more :). In this lighting, this is definitely more green to my eyes. Looks almost like an entirely different color to be honest. I prefer the color in the other photos. But again, colors are highly personal, so I'm not worried (as it happens, I don't like...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

Thank you, and looks good :). Pacific Mist looks better on the larger scale photos than the teasers. Definitely looks more blue than it did before to my eyes. I hear you say it has a black roof, but, TBH, it took me until I read that to notice it (probably the lighting). The black door handles...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

What is that link? Its wanting to download something, and call me skeptical, but... decades of training are telling me "DON"T CLICK ON THAT LINK AND SAVE IT"

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Yeah, its a hard decision. Personally, I rely a lot on the math to soothe my indecision. We purchased ours, simply because I believe that with the tax credit going away, and with many companies saying "the big incentives are going to disappear" (GM said that recently), that EV prices are going...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

It's an Emporia. I'd not heard of them before this, but I'm happy with the purchase. They have a good ecosystem of other monitoring stuff that I may expand to. Also, this might be of interest to everyone. Here is how I routed my cable to keep from leaving the cord on the floor. The 14-50...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

Oh, for sure. I hid a bunch of columns in the excel sheet. It also has things like insurance, and registration, and resale value estimates, etc. And some of those are cheaper for EV's... but some are not. But the easier one to relate to for most people is "fueling costs", so thats what I...

First Time EV Owner: Live experience report

Scout-people Like many here, I've been EV-curious for a while. And after months of research (and admittedly, indecision), we took the plunge yesterday due to a variety of factors. But for us, it was primarily that the family getting larger combined with the federal tax credit going away, huge...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Ah, yes, see, it got me there. I was mentally saying 4kwh (a capacity/volume), but clearly said "4kw". Akward moment o_O. The upside of the Ioniq 9, is the battery is 110kwh. Which is close enough to 100, that at least the ballpark math is fairly easy. But I might end up doing a table like...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

My first two learning experiences: 1) Units: My wife has been involved heavily in the vehicle decision. But, she hasn't been as "technical" with the understanding of how EV's work. So yesterday we were talking about efficiency, and range, and charging things, and she was getting really...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Unrelated to the current line of questioning (sorry). My family just jumped aboard the EV train earlier than expected. With the federal tax credit going away, and some seriously massive incentives by manufacturers to move product before then, combined with the likelihood of tariffs and...

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Same same. I’ve got one garage bay long enough to store the traveler with a spare tire on it. But… that’s where the family vehicle goes. The other bay tops out at like 195-200inches or so before the water heater and furnace intrude. So I’d also be one that probably usually wouldn’t use a...

What is the "Scout Supply gear bench"?

I'd been wondering about this, thanks for the clarification :).

Its like " I don't know... I'm getting a slightly different vibe from that one photo. Its like Gatorade Frost with the saturation turned down a bit, and a bit more blue/less green. :D

Uh. Wasn't the Traveler already "orangish"? I actually have no idea what the color was called off the top of my head. But it was definitely "orange adjacent".

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Meanwhile, my jeep is still on 15's... :P. But really, as I was sort of out of touch with the offroading world/media for a decade or so, when I came back here and saw people talking about 17's, 18's, and 20's as "offroading" options, I was super confused at first. "WHY ARE THEY ROLLING ON...

    An Appreciation Post for Jamie

Ah, is it already? I don't follow sportsball, and am generally surprised whenever I hear its time for <insert large famous game or tournament for any given sport>. But agreed on the recipe thing.

Uh oh. This sounds like something that may need to be shared :P. For... science, or... something like that. *ok, just for my kids and I to nom on.

    An Appreciation Post for Jamie

I'm convinced that Thanksgiving, is largely a ploy developed by the butter industry. The amount of butter that goes into thanksgiving meals at my/my families homes, is ridiculous. Multiple pounds. *Joking, but seriously. SO. MUCH. BUTTER.
