  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Bench Seat vs Standard

Kumbaya - don’t ask me how I know

    Long Way...

Or you could try pole to pole! If a Nissan Ariya can do it . . . https://pluginadventure.com/pole-to-pole-ev-expedition/

    Military and Fleet

    Ok, I’m picturing a pickup wrapped in denim . . . 🙃

    Dealership cartels - horror stories

Ok, the price is pretty bad, but the geek in me is really distracted by their font choice.

How flat towing should work in a perfect world....if Scout makes it a feature.

It drives my imagination to thoughts of bugs bunny/roadrunner cartoons :) Imagine wile e coyote coasting down a twisty mountain road ever faster with the vehicle in neutral, then right as he hits a long straight desert road the parking brake kicks in . . .

    Colorado Event

I’m really hoping the air suspension makes it easy to lower when parked. The height could be a pain for day to day stuff.

Or you could call it “aligned interests”

    Size comparison

Guess I’m canceling my traveler and getting one of these instead!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

The lucid motors YouTube channel has a series of tech talks that are really informative, including one about the motor in the air. A year or too old now, but really interesting, with lots of details.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

Definitely need fins, like this practical 61 Chrysler:

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Reminds me of the “OHIP” rule my old EE profs talked about. As long as you keep One Hand in Pocket, the voltage won’t cross your body so you’ll only get a burn, not a heart attack. One of them used to test circuits between thumb and fingers (of one hand) 🙃 Don’t try this at home. Or...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

This, kids, is why we need physical keys, locks, door handles and latches: https://insideevs.com/news/755235/tesla-model-s-bricked-6-months-getting-in/ “Both the high-voltage and the 12-volt battery were drained, meaning the doors could not be unlocked and the hood could not be opened...

    What did you reserve?

Not to discourage any reservations, but my understanding is that you have a couple years to change it, ie between Terra/traveler, harvester/bev, so if you’re only planning to buy one you only need one reservation.

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

Software is like great art, it’s never finished :ROFLMAO: But seriously, it is nice that even if a feature is not initially available it can be added later.
  17. O

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

    Showing my age ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Internet,_nobody_knows_you%27re_a_dog

    Battery Type

Yeah, I’m looking forward to having a cold fusion generator in my garage with room temperature superconducting wires all setup when solid state batteries become cheap and available. 🙃
