  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Yeah I was about as shocked as you are when I did the math. I even checked it a few times to be sure. It turns out fridges and freezers don't consume all the much energy, a couple hundred Watts when running and then nothing for most of the day, and the LED lights we setup didn't even register as...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Having lived with EVs for almost a decade and as someone who frequently goes camping with a long range EV (I'm a Scout leader and use an Ioniq 5 AWD) I can say with a fair degree of certainty that a Harvester is completely unnecessary. I use my EV's bidirectional charging regularly to run my...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

If Hyundai can put selectable regen levels in a Kona then Scout should have no trouble putting it in a vehicle that costs twice as much. I doubt cost would be the driving factor, it's more design/use philosophy than anything else. I hope Scout adopts a more conventional design philossphy than a...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

But it chargers really fast and with a 350 mi range, even if you cut that in half due to towing you still get 175 mi which in real units is almost 300 km, that's three hours of driving which is fine - especially given the super fast charging speed of these vehicles. If you aren't going to be...

Okay well it sounds like the Traveler BEV would fit your needs well then.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Hi, welcome to the community. Two points here that I'd like to make. First, the final vehicle specs have not yet been nailed down so it may be a little premature to freak out about them just yet. Second, if towing enormous trailers is your primary concern then perhaps the Silverado EV/Sierra...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Yes exactly. My car allows you to mimic how both of those feel. You can set it to "regen level 0" which feels like a manual transmission (with the clutch in) when you lift off the accelerator so you just coast until you hit the brake (in this scenario the brake would then activate regen to...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

I would say that even in the instances where an OEM allows you to "disable" regen - ie "regen level 0" in my car - regen is still used to slow the car when the brake pedal is pressed. What the different regen settings change is effectively how much "engine drag" you feel when lifting off the...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Yes, absolutely! That's the exact point I and others have been trying to make here. Some car makers have given drivers a selection of different modes all the way from coasting like a gas car (ie very little regen) to one pedal driving like a golf cart (ie the Tesla way) and everything in...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Fear of the unknown is natural and human. It's how you address the fear that matters. Learning about new things, being curious, and keeping an open mind are what sets some people apart from being unthinking reactionaries stumbling around in the dark.

Or just buy better inverters from trusted companies? So being dependent on the whims of an oil monopoly is somehow better than generating your own energy? I don't get it. What a rage-bait silly article.

Just because Scout supports a feature like this doesn't mean you need to use it. I'd love for the Scouts to have this. Again, having choices is good!

Expert Car Designer Analysis of Scout Traveler and Terra

lol this guy is hilarious. He keeps saying he's not a fan of EV because of the "practicality" and "inconvenience" of it, like he doesn't live in a house with electricity or something :ROFLMAO: My dude, you can literally refuel your electric Scout from an outlet in your barn. I'm betting you...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

If you hold the right-hand regen paddle for a few seconds it'll go into "auto regen" mode which is the best. It dynamically adjusts the regen strength based on what's happening in front of you.

Yep, the widely reported narrative of "EV sales" being "in decline" is false. It's a narrative being pushed by both the oil industry through 'astro-turf' industry groups as well as lagging automakers led by Toyota and Stellantis. It's an objectively false narrative that the data has never...

Sure, still no new information there. It's a year behind schedule and they haven't released even basic details about it yet even though it's supposedly coming out in a few months.

Can't say I'm surprised. The Stellantis brands are so far behind in EVs already and they seem to really be struggling with making the transition. Whatever happened to the Jeep Recon? It's been almost radio silence for years now on that one!

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

I mostly just want to be able to turn off one-pedal driving. It would also be nice to adjust how strong the regen feels because yes, sometimes it nice to not have regen and to just coast.
