  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I think you’re confusing their education and experience with their tenure on this forum. You came in hot accusing someone of being against tech advancement and are doubling down to save face after they clearly conveyed their qualifications and reasoning, and it’s kind of sad to watch. Hope...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Alright last post for me for a little bit. I haven’t been outside working on things for a while and I feel it. Took the front tires off, trimmed some of the plastic fender liner at the firewall, cut the pinch weld and smashed it flat, and pushed the front of each fender liner in about 3”-4”...

Luxury features I would like to See

Technically it’s cheaper than a solid axle swap to Dana 60s, regearing, and fabrication. With the portals ABS and all the traction control features are retained so it can still be safely driven on the road. Since the gear reduction takes place at the hubs it also takes a lot of stress off of...

Lmao. Believe it or not they are basically a rocket scientist, not exactly a Luddite. They probably don’t trust it because they actually understand how it works 😂

Luxury features I would like to See

Some semi trucks and trailers still have it. Haven’t seen it on anything recent aside from the Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6. It’s a game changer on and offroad. These guys offer it as an option on their portal kits for an extra $3k. With their system if you are on a side hill and things get too off...

Now THAT would be a luxury.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Appreciate it man. It took a long time for me to learn that downtravel is a lot more useful than uptravel in the slow stuff. Kept the Bilsteins coilovers adjusted pretty low as well as the rear bags. I can still raise the rear 1.5” if I need a little extra height and drop it 1” with the...

Former Rivian R1S owner, almost twice. Can’t wait for the Scout

Right on. I plead ignorance. I had thought the M versions were a specific trim and didn’t realize it was available as a package. Fast wagons are a riot. Hope you can get another one someday.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Here in Texas what surpluses we had in capacity is going to AI data centers and bitcoin farms. ERCOT is forecasting demand doubling by 2030. Pair that with peak demand of summer HVAC, renewable energy contracts being cancelled, and there will be less and less supply for growing demand. I...

Former Rivian R1S owner, almost twice. Can’t wait for the Scout

Congratulations! I bet dealerships are scrambling to sell their EVs this weekend before the rebate window closes. Very impressive looking machine. How do you feel about it so far? I am not really familiar with BMWs, but I thought the 70 was the M Sport variant? Is there an M Sport...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Thank you sir. Needs wax and ceramic coat in a bad way. Fender flares have fading clear coat. Also that whoopsie on the passenger side rear. Have a set of steel skid plates I also need to install. I’ve really been neglecting this thing. I swore it would keep it stock and that only lasted 4...

There are times where I get really anxious and get aggressive in traffic, and it would be safer for me and everyone else to let the car take over for a while. I have never tried full self driving but our Odyssey has Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise. It is not really capable of handling the...

The GX stepped up to 33” Pizza Cutters today from a worn out set of 31”s. 33X10.50R17 Kenda Klever RTs look 🤌🏽 with 0mm offset TRD wheels. Rubs a bit at full lock. Will bust out the heat gun and start massaging the inner fender liners and smash the pinch weld down tomorrow if weather permits.

    Off topic - small trailer for a 2018 4Runner

Cool company too. Its founder helped design habitats for NASA and a lot of their design features are very clever and easy to replace yourself.

    Off topic - small trailer for a 2018 4Runner

Opus makes some nice pop ups. Some use air beams and a pump to inflate it so setup is very easy. I am not sure if a teardrop style will work with the kiddo unless they “cosleep” while camping. You should also check out the offroad trailer thread. Several people in there with experience were...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

If I take it out I put it back, but that makes total sense. I eventually used a flat drift punch and a hammer on the area around them to loosen them up and they came right out. Next time they go in the scrap pile. lol

Side note: Whoever decided to put a JIS Phillips head screw in each rotor needs to be drawn and quartered.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

It’s been raining all day so I haven’t been able to do a whole lot, but it finally broke around 5pm so I ran outside to install some new brakes on the wife’s Odyssey. It got some PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors with carbon fiber ceramic pads. This is the 6th set I’ve installed and one of...

I wish your friend the best of luck. Don’t let them give up. I waited 15 years to file and submitted it all last year myself. Ended up at 80%. They denied 8 out of 12 of my contentions. I highlighted the evidence in service treatment records, current diagnosis, continuation of care, etc. May...
