  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I might have suffered some neurological damage this weekend but I can't wrap my head around the proportions of this vehicle

If that happened to me I would veer into highway barrier so fast

In what movie franchise would you like to see the new Scout make an appearance?

Plus would avoid a potential issue I can see with the General Lee

Not to be that guy, but this venture is explicitly aimed at making low-cost and affordable micromobiility E-Vehicles. Considering RJ's wording I would gather that these are aimed at a sub $6k price point for entry.

Getting into defense is interesting. Germany currently has a couple options (and the will) to massively ramp up their defense spending with no harm to their other commitments to EU. I suppose that would mean sell or lease a factory (to Rheinmetal like they have talked about) and have the workers...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

Concerning the 35's vs 33's discussion it is also important to note that you would probably get better range with the 33's just because they are lighter.

I think its mostly the private individuals. The amount of people driving around the city I live in with top trim level trucks/suvs is astronomical. I think there is a combination of affordable cars not being made anymore, the "keep up with the Jones's effect", financial illiteracy, and then...

and you guys are moving fairly fast. My company is putting in a new factory (about the same cost if reporting from Reuters is to be believed) and its a minimum 5 year project. But my industry also is drastically more expensive and risk averse then Automotive

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Also makes loading stuff into your car through the fully open doors WAY easier. I love my full 90deg second row.

He posted an unedited version of that impact on his twitter, and it looks like he accidentally grabs the steering wheel right before the impact with the "wall" so technically speaking he disengaged autopilot. However, even if Autopilot was working AND detected the "Wall" it would not have been...

Scout Motors Proactive Measures to Reduce Consumers' EV Auto Insurance?

I might be totally incorrect but I think that Rivian and Tesla having their own insurance is helpful for their lease programs as well? So in that case at least for the first 5 years of Scout's production life I think it would be a great idea.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Honestly, I pay around $75/month right now for gas (shoutout Costco and having a very walkable neighborhood), but if I have to pay over $150/month for gas (which for me means that my cars MPG would have to drop into the sub-20 range and/or I would have to use premium) I would riot.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

To be entire honest I only ever use OnX BackCountry for "Oh shit" navigation moments where I need an offline map where I am hiking (or in the case of OnX Offroad when I am driving down a service road to where I am hiking). I have never really used it for any hard core route following. Mostly...
