  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It will happen, but hard NO. I also really, really hope the brand does not tarnish it's reputation with making that a factory option. Sure it will gain a few sales, but loose 10x that many due to people not wanting to be associated with it. Just look at the death of Cadillac. Mostly a joke...

    Camping

Had a shell on a Dodge, then later an F150. F150 camped like hell because it had a 5.5' bed. As for leaking. Never really noticed a lot of leaking when camping - but if I left certain things in the front of the bed for a few weeks, they would get moldy. As such, I knew there was a moisture...

Will Scout Offer a Premium Audio Option?

A premium sound system is all but worthless unless you can control the road and wind noise getting inside. But that said, if the interior is quiet enough-I have enjoyed most of the stock (probably premium stock, given trim levels) on my semi modern vehicles.

    Optional 37” Tires

Would rather have 2" more suspension travel than tire size-but that is practical, not sexy.

    Optional 37” Tires

I forget if I have 8" or 10" 33's on my LJ. Wish they were KO2's - but when I got them, virtually no 33" KO2's were available. I took off 12" 35" after I got it, then re-geared as well - It still had the stock gears for 28" tires.

What government and private sectors could you see Scout being successful in commercially? (Police, military, S&R, Delivery, etc)

Could potentially work as a mail vehicle - but the price point is difficult, and honestly rural routes are damn hard on vehicles. The battery life might be good enough for a day of mail delivery-but how would the Scout hold up day after day, and could repairs be done quickly enough to keep them...

suggestion for front shape, Traveler may be

I could rant-but no, just NO. Don't make it just another EV-make it a Scout.

[Terra] Double cab with a 6.5' bed

While nobody builds EV trucks with 6.5' beds, I think there are gas ones available as special order (never seen one in a dealership). That said, going to 3/4 ton almost always gets you a longer bed. Likewise, extend cabs (vs crew cabs) are virtually extinct. They exist as special orders, and...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Thought I posted in this thread, but maybe I posted in a similar thread on the other forum... I think the design is very clean and refined. That said, it is not the direction I would take if I personally modified a vehicle. I live in an area where deer strikes are fairly common - so I prefer...

[Terra] Heat ducts in the bed

electric blankets have worked great for me camping. IF the bed was actually >6', then I might actually consider the Terra-but I guess having a roll down window to the cab and a fan to move the AC back would be my plan. As it is, I think the Traveler will have more room to sleep.

    Suggestions

Figured the shark fin was XM only, but apparently they are putting other stuff in it. My Golf is old enough to not have one - don't think our 2018 Jeep does either, or my 2017 F250.

    Special/First Edition Scouts

I guess you could look at what VW has done with the US IDBuzz. Late, overpriced, missed performance numbers, and is selling with a significant dealer markup. But honestly, how many will sell after the initial adopters?

    Suggestions

Have had demo subscriptions. Guess IF I used it much maybe - but subscriptions to other services are not tied to individual devices. Probably 90% of my vehicle time is probably using Audable (which probably costs me a LOT more than XM-without the subscription and volume pricing, I kill a $25...

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Retired CPA (worked about 26 years in the field). In addition to a tax specialization, I did a lot of system admin work for our firm (at least before the powers that be decided any high school dropout could do system admin). Small rancher at the moment.

    3rd Row Option!

Given time, if the first 2 models are successful - I can easily see them doing a 3rd row SUV and a mid sized vehicle. I think a 3rd row would be fairly easy, given the truck already has the additional wheelbase necessary - and with no change in width their should not be any issues with fitting...

Solar-Ready package (especially for the Traveler)

I guess I missed your point some. An EV already has a battery system that dwarfs most portable battery systems - I personally would rather be able to boost that system, and draw from it that have a second independent system. I have used a small solar system on a roof rack before for camping -...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

60k is a bit high for a stripped vehicle with a sub-sized battery and 1/2 a motor system. Maybe keep some of the luxury add ons as upgrades, but 60k for the offroad version with a full sized battery system is a much better price point - let it compete with other off road oriented vehicles. If...

Solar-Ready package (especially for the Traveler)

While there may be times an integrated solar system might be useful - I fear most of the time it lacks cost benefit. If you look at available roof space - it is doubtful that a system larger than 1200 watts would fit. Most of the US probably averages less than 5hr of effective solar...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Scout has been working on their product for several years, with the backing of one of the worlds largest vehicle group. We might have reservations that Scout will hit their production timeline - but I seriously doubt Slate will have a vehicle for sale anytime soon. Still waiting on the Apple...
