Tell us about your Scout:
This is originally a Texas Scout that before my ownership lived in Michigan for 35 years. It was driven as a summer vehicle and garaged when not in use. Even though it's a 1975, the grill was changed to a 1973 and it got high back seats from a 1978. Sometime in the early 2000's it had a frame on restoration and went from the original blue to white color it is today.
I remember being ~8 years old and right up the street from me there was a group of guys that lived in a house together who all owned Scout IIs. There would be 3-4 Scouts sitting on the street or driveway and I always thought they were so cool. I remember having bottle rocket fights with that group of guys one New Years and despite not having a clue what those guys looked like or who they were, the Scout remained in my mind. Fast forward 25 years and I was talking to my wife about wanting to get an old vehicle that I could work on and enjoy with the family. While we were on a walk with our dog and 1 month old Son I told her about this Scout that I had located and would like to buy. While it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, I knew that finding one with the best condition body would save me money and time in the long run. I showed my beautiful wife, Sasha, the pictures and she loved the way it looked and was excited that we could put a car seat in the back. A few days later the purchase was completed and I took ownership of this beautiful 1975 Scout II. Now Sasha and my 4 year old Son love to go for rides in the Scout and enjoy the day. I have made some great friends because of this Scout, learned to work on it, do general maintenance, electrical work, etc... I love driving this Scout and seeing the joy it brings others and the stories that people share about ones growing up.
