The 1978 Scout II my dad and I got as a project when I was 10.

						Tell us about your Scout:
This is the Scout that my dad bought in 2014 as a project for the two of us when I was 10. After learning more about the Scouts and their value we decided to begin restoring it and making it less of a trail-only rig. Now the Scout and this hobby has became a staple of my life and sparked a lot of my interests. It has given me an opportunity to learn about working on vehicles and has given me and my dad plenty of memories together. It was originally a selective edition with the gold stripes and gold wheels (they were gone when we bought it). Since we got it, I have gone through nearly everything and have repaired rust, rebuilt suspension and steering, lined and refurbished the interior, put in a cage from DandC Extreme, and installed a rebuilt Chevy 350 and turbo 350 (This really only scratches the surface of everything that has been done). I am also in the process of swapping the np203 to a twin stick np205 this winter. Everywhere I go it gets the looks and I always end up talking to people that used to own or had driven a Scout. I look forward to seeing the new Scout and hope to have one to go with the 78 once I graduate college in 2026! The last two images are when we first brought it home and how it looked when we first got it running and driving around the farm.
