The Garage (What did you work on today?)

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
Wow! It appears there have been a vast number of accessories you can get now that weren't available when I had my dirt bike back in high school. About all I remember getting was a helmet, a few different sized sprockets and NGK spark plugs.

BTW...NICE BIKE!
I bet they didn’t sell thumpers that made 74hp back then either. This thing is stupid fast for a 330lb bike!

This one even has multiple traction control, throttle maps, and ABS options.

But yeah there are all kinds of niche gizmos and doo dads you can slap on them now. It can really get out of hand fast too lol

I really don’t like doing drywall, so I’m happy to say my office drywall is pretty much complete.

I can’t afford new windows right now, so I’ll be looking for used ones over the next six months with the hopes that I can get some to install next spring.
I need to also install the minisplit heat pump, but that’s another thing I don’t have time for right now and it’s getting cold so AC isn’t exactly a priority.

Over the next week or two I’ll install the floors, ceiling fan, and a door. I don’t think I’ll paint any time soon. Marred purple is just fine.

Had the sub panel for my battery backup installed yesterday. The panel on the left is the original, and the 14-50 plug underneath is the charging outlet for the battery. It’s a 240V/50A so I could repurpose it to an EVSE if I want. The panel on the right is the sub panel. The outlet below it is the power supply from the battery, it’s a 120V/50A connection.

All went well but when we switched over to battery power only one side in the panel was hot. The electrician and I looked mystified, it was the end of the day and he had to leave but would speak with his people and get back to me. I think I know what the issue is. After pondering for a bit it occurred to me that the 14-50 connection, which is usually a 240V set up, is only 120V… so only one leg in the cable is hot. I expect the electrician dutifully connected each leg of the incoming plug to the panel. But since only one is hot, only one side of the panel has power. IANAE but I’m pretty sure this is the issue.

A whole home battery with 50A/120V output is something I’ve never seen. What’s the battery brand and model?

I have a 3500w generator I use in power outages. It only does 120v x 30amps, and I use a TT-30 to LR14-30R adapter to plug it into the house through my transfer switch.

And when it does this, only one leg is hot, so I have to turn off all my 240v outlets. It sounds like you have the same thing going on.

Is it possible that your Bluetti is somehow counting all forms of its output towards its 5000w output, but it can’t actually produce 240v output on its own?

This inverter supplies 120V only. Two can be paired for 240V service.
