  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Also battery size. 120-130kw for BEV. Half that for EREV. That implies 2.75miles/kw efficiency.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

That’s close to what we keep our cars for so it’s not an assumption nor a rationalization, it’s math.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

We bought the i4, it’s in the stable for the long haul. Replaced a 13 year old maxima that we traded in during the pandemic. 3 cars are owned, one lease.

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

This amongst many reasons is why I would never be caught dead in a Tesla

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

Burying something mission critical menu is unsafe. In our i4 you can switch regen modes w the gear shifter and in the eqs there are paddles. Plenty of sports SUVs have paddles. Not sure why it should bother anyone, if you don’t want to use it, set it and forget but many of us hate one pedal...

That’s assuming that car will last you 15 years without replacing the battery from repeated cycling. Have you checked your cell phone battery health after two years of daily charging?

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

My math - $8000/15yrs =$533.33/yr Maybe instead of buying cars on a 3 yr basis folks should look at keeping things longer… I’ll keep my 2008 Infiniti till 2027 to replace it with this. Agree if some are looking at this as a short term purchase it’s a lot of money.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Having lived with these cars for a few years now, it’s something I would be willing to pay more for. It’s not about the cost, it’s the practical usability and the potential longevity on the powertrain if you can reduce the number of charging cycles. We keep our cars that we purchase 10+ years...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Ideally you don’t want to have to charge your EV everyday, it degrades the battery pack faster and is not optimal for battery health. If the efficiency is poor or the range is limited one will have to do that. We don’t know much at this point, the purpose of the thread was to encourage Scout...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

Have had mine for 7 years. I like it better than the newer generation, more analog, just the right amount of tech.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

The difference is the time to charge vs the time to refuel which is why understanding the battery tech and specifications are far more critical in an EV.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I think what I’m saying is 350 isn’t really 350. Range estimates are highly dependent on highway vs city plus weather in an EV but we don’t have the detail today to understand what the real world specs are.

    33 Months of EV driving...

How fast do you typically drive in the f150? Does your efficiency degrade materially at 75mph plus? Asking as an EV sedan owner (EQS and bmw i4).

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

There are lots of other reasons that Tesla gets hate, predominantly its owner.

    SCOUT TRAVELER FAQ

What’s the configuration the 350 mile estimate based on? Are the range estimates consistent for type of roof and wheel packages? Will the cabana roof have reduced range? 35 vs 33 in tires?
