  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

That job listing states it is for the generator and inverter, not the engine. Scott Keogh has publicly stated in interviews that the engine will be an existing 4 cyl gasoline engine and while he would not say specifically which 4 cyl, he told some of the interviewers that with their background...

    Driving Distance Poll

I've got a daily round trip commute of 52 miles, my office building has free EV charging and I'm almost always here earlier in the morning than anyone else. Free charging twice a week while I'm at work for example would get me by on a Traveler Harvester. But I need to be able to tow my old...

    Harvester towing

I'll say, I certainly had a moment of pause when I heard Scott say that Harvester towing was 5k. My Grand Cherokee has a 7,200lb tow capacity and I use it to trailer my old Wrangler on it's car hauler. I've always been told that you should not tow more than 75% of max capacity for long...

VW, Audi dealers file suit in Florida to block Scout Motors’ direct sales to state consumers

Agree, but they don't care what we think or what we want out of the buying process. All they care about is forcing consumers to buy from a dealer, so that they're guaranteed to be able to make money off us in some way, even if we hate them.

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

I should have been more specific: Not like any OTHER hybrid currently on the market.

Scouting the Road Ahead With Scout Motors President and CEO Scott Keogh

This has been discussed elsewhere, but it will not be a parallel "hybrid" at all. The confirmation is that there will be enough battery to support a 150 mile range and a 4 cyl motor to keep that battery charged for up to a total of a 500+ mile range. In a hybrid, the battery powers a motor...

I interpreted Scott's comments the same way as you.

    Future Proof Remote Connectivity

This. I was crushed when 3G was sunset and I lost a number of features I regularly used in my '17 Jeep WK2, and I typically keep my cars for 10+ years, so I will own the Grand Cherokee for more time without those features than I did with them. I hope that the Scout Traveler which I would...

    CLOSED! Audio System Brand Poll

They did in at least one generation of the Ford Fusion. The tech and interface were great, but IMHO the sound was just mediocre. That said, Sony has long made great electronics but never made particularly great speakers.

    Range and Competitiveness

I am in marketing. Scout's statements about the Harvester's range include the verbage "500+ miles". The "+" is of course an intentional cue. In my opinion, there is a zero percent chance that the vehicle will not be able to actively charge the batteries while also providing power to the...

    CLOSED! Audio System Brand Poll

One of the most disappointing factory audio systems I've had in the modern car audio era was the Bose system in my 2nd Miata. I've been very happy with the sound quality and longevity of the 500 watt 9 speaker Alpine system in my Grand Cherokee. Probably the best overall factory sound quality...

Road Trip in a VW Buzz: Success or Train Wreck

Happened to my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2 years ago when the vehicle was just 5 years old. My Trailhawk came with lots of engine / accessory / transfer case / suspension monitoring onboard menus, app based remote start and "send & go", all of which stopped working when 3g was sunset. I really...

    Amateur radio antenna mount

In the Traveler, this could be on the rear mounted spare tire carrier. Good idea.

What are you driving until release?

DD until the Scout is delivered is a Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi Trailhawk. Toy which will remain after the Scout is delivered and will be trailered to and from the trails by the Scout, is my old heavily modified Jeep Wrangler.
