  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Don't get me wrong. Talking about my repair experiences with both of my air suspension vehicles is not intended to deter, it was just an account of what it cost to work on at the dealer. And I've said this before but one "feature" of the air suspension in my Jeep, which was not marketed as a...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

The Jeep dealer I was forced to use to receive warranty work at that time was, without a doubt, totally incompetent.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

I'm not 100% on exactly how the system is constructed, but the vehicles referenced in that guide are all much older than mine and my model isn't listed at all. Perhaps it does use hydraulics to stiffen the ride vs air, or a combination of the two. Either way, two very different systems in the...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

SpaceEVDriver is correct, the MB AirMatic system has both air springs and air struts.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Yes this is true. I know that semis use air ride, but I don't know if they adjust or are constant pressure. The Jeep system is constantly adjusting itself. In Arizona summers, I have had multiple occasions where I get a warning light on the dashboard and a message that the air compressor has...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

In the Mercedes, the air suspension adjusts ride firmness based on mode. Eco & Comfort mode and it's a cushy ride. Sport mode firms things up and Sport+ is so firm you feel every little inconsistency in the road, but the car drives like it's on rails. Handles super well. In the Jeep, it's...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Both my wife's Mercedes coupe and my Grand Cherokee have air suspension. Wife needed rear airbags and some related components replaced just out of warranty which the dealer wanted something like $5k for and the car only had around 25k miles on it. Jeep needed the entire air suspension system...

    0-60 times with harvester

A year or two ago when I took my wife's MB in for service, the dealer gave me an EQS580 4Matic SUV as a loaner for several days. It is a large 6,327lb all wheel drive electric SUV making 536hp and 633tq with a 4.5 second 0-60 time. And let me tell you, I absolutely abused that thing. It was...

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

I'd give you some kind of award if I could. LOL.

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

LOL yeah sorry about that, I just couldn't help myself. Low hanging fruit and all.

Hopefully when they launch the configurator, it doesn't include manual locking hubs. Pete's sake.

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Why does Scout need locking hubs at all? There are dual motors and locking differentials, front and rear, that will default to open (unless I've missed something). There is no need for locking hubs, auto or manual. This troll post makes no sense, but then again trolls and troll posts never do.

Make it easy to precool your Scout and create routines (Mobile Integration)

When I went from a fairly basic '07 Mustang to a '17 Grand Cherokee, I got heated and cooled seats, remote start, app control, nav etc. Being able to remote start from the app to pre-cool the vehicle during the summer months was a game changer for sure. I can still do that with the remote but...

    Size comparison

@Chavannigans, love it. Loved the old Grand Waggys and have wheeled with a bunch of guys out here in AZ from the FSJ crowd. And you're right, seeing those things running some of the same trails I run in my Wrangler makes them look comparably like behemoths. I like your comparison to the...

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

Agree, if they're fitting a 15 gal tank into space that is occupied by battery in the non-Harvester version, then the only way to fit more tank into the space would be at the expense of battery, so they would have to put an aux tank somewhere else in the vehicle. When I was lugging a 5 gal...

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

Yeah the forum and website are dead. The admin who owned the domain moved from AZ to NC several years ago and then stopped maintaining the site, so eventually it crashed. A few of the other members who are savvy IT people tried getting it running again, but for whatever reason it never came...

Awesome feedback, and good call on the adapters.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

This is excellent feedback, thank you Logan. It is indeed Level 2 charging here at the office. And 12 hours is also pretty darn close. I'd be able to charge at home from 7pm (when electricity gets super cheap) until about 6:30am the next morning.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I have not, actually. I've never leased a vehicle, didn't know there were cheap EV leases out there, and wasn't even considering that might be an option. But I'll look into it now :)
