  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

For those of you owning EVs for a long time now, I'm interested to hear about your thoughts on this article, particularly any moments of sticker shock when it came to repairs or insurance. https://grist.org/transportation/the-hidden-cost-of-owning-an-ev-expensive-insurance/

Interview with Ryan Decker, VP of Strategy and Brand, Scout Motors

During the Seattle event, I spoke with someone from Scout who mentioned that they will have a non-sales presence in the state. The event was held at a DIY car garage... sort of like a maker-space, but I guess for motor-heads. It had a nice restaurant and even a barbershop. Personally, I think it...

These pics are more for showing the size of the crowd and to get a sense of the place and energy that was going on. I didn't really do any deep dive product shots because I think there are plenty of influencers and content creators that will do that when Scout is ready to announce something...

A branded, reusable mug. It seems like the outer shell is like a tumbler for cold drinks and the inner shell is ceramic for hot drinks.

Yes, you'll like this story. They were asking people to share the QR codes from the confirmation email and I was like "What would be the email address it was from?" and the reply was "scoutmotors.com" and I did a search on my email and it was just all forum notifications... So I was like "So, I...

Hey guys, I took a few pictures, but not many because it was packed! I swear, we rolled up about 2 minutes after it was scheduled to start and it was like a rock concert in a part of town that doesn't normally have large crowds. Folks were parking blocks away and walking up. The Scout crew was...

    Change of Heart?

I heard that the higher your rank is in the community forum, the sooner you'll be contacted to start your configuration and purchase.

Usb ports on top of dash

Two ideas from me: When the driver puts their phone onto a Qi charging point, the vehicle uses NFC to read the preferences for the driver and auto adjusts the seat and radio to their preferences The outdoor charging panel that was shown with nema 5-xx plugs, can we also get a USB-C (or two)...

    Rear Window

My 2003 Honda Element had a glass portion that lifted up and a tailgate that dropped down, spare tire was inside the floor of the cargo area. That worked pretty well. We now have a 2019 Kia Niro PHEV that has a rear door that lifts up. It's fine, but now that it's about 5 years old, the...

    Offering diesel

I was totally just thinking about a Diesel version of the Harvester. Most sailboats use diesel engines for motorized propulsion, and I was thinking how beneficial it would be after the Apocalypse to be able to run my Scout Traveler w/Harvester off of biodiesel rather than needing to constantly...

    Scout Production Number Badge

I think in the door frame or something where it's a little more 'inside the guts' than something in the cabin. It kind of reminds me of how some one-design fleets have the sail numbers match the hull numbers.

    Scout delayed??

I don't think I've ever seen data on this kind of thing, but I wonder if the number of horses employed for transportation was higher, even or lower than the number of vehicles we have per capita today. Like, we've had discussions on this forum about how a 'new car' is starting to get beyond the...

How much more would you pay for a Launch Edition Scout

I put in a 10% premium on the poll. It's definitely tough because having one of the first trucks off the line gives you kind of a DeLorean anxiety, so I'm not sure I'd like for small optional features to be included in the vehicle, like a key fob or a paint color. Instead, I'd like to see...
