  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

If those are big scroll wheels next to each main HVAC function, it's an incredible user interface that should be easy to operate with or without winter gloves without looking at the controls. Kudos to the designers.

What If the Harvester Shed 1,000 lbs and Got Better? The Case for LTO + EA211-ERV

Neither the naturally aspirated EA211 nor the -ERV version fit in the Scout as-is. Both engines have to be rotated drastically off-axis to allow it to fit, and that creates lots of issues with oil and cooling passages. Whatever engine is used, it'll have to be modified extensively to work in...

Mainly just the HUGE make or model letters across the rear end. You're correct, there's historical precedent though, whether I like it or not.

What If the Harvester Shed 1,000 lbs and Got Better? The Case for LTO + EA211-ERV

Okay, I'll bite. You're proposing an engine that won't fit into the Scout (without losing the frunk) that has ~141hp and a small battery for towing heavy loads at high altitude. Towing 7k-10k, you'll use up the battery capacity in 15-20 miles, at which point the 1.5 liter engine can't keep up...

I am SO tired of all trucks (and more and more SUVs) branding their ass end with huge tramp stamps. I typically debadge my vehicles though, so I might be biased.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Nope, the mounts are pretty mangled. I've got some beefy 1/4" steel mounts with skids ready to weld on at some point. Don't tempt me on the adjustable valving... I've got my fixed valves where I'm happy with them, but I know it could be better. I'd love to be able to dial out some of the...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Definitely go for low maintenance! I did ToyOutfitter adjustables ~15 years ago. I just grease them at each oil change and they've been silent and indestructible (unlike the stock front mounts, haha). I too keep my sway bars on since I drive aggressively on the street.

I don't know if the cells matter much where they're coming from, but the battery management system will need to play nice with the Rivian software at the very least. Scout has said the batteries will be assembled on-site though, so I'm assuming they're partnering with someone in the battery...

The stuffed rear wheel looks off-center in the wheel-well, is that shadows playing tricks on my eyes? You running adjustable links in the rear?

March 2026 Scout Production Center Update

Who screwed up though, the guy in the field, or the guy with the mouse? I've been paying close attention to the equipment in the pictures and I've gotta say, I'd kill to have some of that stuff, especially the laser scanners!

I've seen several rumors of Scout using Hyundai Mobis for batteries. Basically "no comment" from Jamie, so we'll have to wait and see for now.

Headlight & DRL Color Temperature Changed?

105k in the 24x26 garage and another 108k in the 24x16 workshop. Now my problem is that I went to a local NASCAR shop and saw all the upwards-facing lighting they had in the floor and want more! Not gonna happen practically, so I might need to inform the wife that we need to sell the house and...

February 2026 Scout Production Center Update

I had to go look at my daily driver to see what color stitching it had, haha. After 95k miles, I was surprised to find red stitching at all of the seams in the black leather seats. I had no idea... Apparently I'm more focused on the driving and not having a "Jesus, Take the Wheel" moment...

February 2026 Scout Production Center Update

I see so many car reviews criticizing interior materials in places nobody will ever touch, and I simply don't get it. I mean, if I'm dropping Rolls or Bentley money, sure, but a Toyota or Subaru?? I'm sure there are people behind this push for soft-touch materials on everything inside a car...
