  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

November 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

Seeing the picture of the cute factory heat pump reminded me how large VAG is and how many companies they own. The Harvester engine could easily be a generator engine from from obscure brand they own which could make more sense if it's already optimized for steady-state generator duties. In...

Concern about the complexity and cost of repairs/maintenance for EREV

Polaris Xpedition ADV Ultimate. I couldn't find many other pictures with an engine access hatch.

    CYURE GOES TO CHICAGO 12/10/2025

Do these huge, open roofs make assembly line work easier? I'd assume having a big hole up top would give robotic arms easier access for structural adhesive, spot welding, dropping in a bench seat assembly, etc. I want solid metal above my head personally, but realize the trend seems to be...

Concern about the complexity and cost of repairs/maintenance for EREV

Just put a hatch in the floor under the carpet and I'll be happy with top and bottom access. Oh, and I really hope we don't have German engineers involved in this project. Also, Scout would be wise to throw some Easter Eggs in the area too. By that I mean extra 10mm sockets, randomly stashed...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

Definitely true, but as someone that drives a vehicle with a 35" tire hanging off the back, it's definitely something to factor in when parking or making decisions about whether a vehicle can fit in your garage. I haven't even paid attention, is the carrier on the rear optional?

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

I'm not sure I'd count the Traveler as mid-size since it's pretty large. With the spare, it's 8"-10" longer than an R1S, EV9, Ioniq 9 and only an inch or two shorter than an Expedition/Tahoe.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

"main population of buyers are not willing to void a warranty" I'm hoping that most Scout buyers are so passionate about their vehicles that they want to make them their own.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I'm actually hoping for the opposite. More than half the Wranglers I see on the road have the suspensions modified, voiding the warranty. I hope Scout owners follow the same path, making their vehicles their own and loving the heck out of them with a huge aftermarket to support that love. I'm...

You're probably not allowed to say, but what does a unit like that cost??

I had to look them up! https://www.everllence.com/energy/solutions/heat-pumps Cute little compressors they use... (edit: though I suspect that's too big for the little unit Scout is using...)

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I wish more people in the Toyota community understood these basic concepts, though I'll argue that the front control arm length is the limiting factor more so than shocks. The longer shocks put the control arms in a more drooped position, giving them less ability to drop further. Toyota UCAs...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I just don't see anything with an independent front suspension doing much better, though with no engine up front on the Scout, they might be able to do longer upper and lower control arms, giving us a long-travel front. Still won't match the solid axle, but we wouldn't be losing as much.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I'm expecting something in the range of a 4Runner or FJ. Minimal mods to have lots of articulation in the rear with the front suspension being the limiting factor. Hopefully the width of the Scout will allow a little longer front suspension arms. Still, the low-slung battery weight should...

Are you OK with Scout vehicles starting under $60K?

What is it about vehicles like the 4Runner and Wrangler that hold stronger-than-normal resale values? Hopefully it's the rugged, body-on-frame vibe so we can keep high residuals on the Scouts as well. Hopefully Scout positions the brand in such a way as to keep resale values strong and puts...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

I haven't seen anything stock or near-stock that'll touch a Rubicon in the rocks, unless you're a 4-door. In that case, a 2-door Rubicon is better, haha. Solid front axles are simply superior to most anything independent.

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Basic math and an understanding of electric motors' limitations. They don't have enough torque down low, so they have to rely on wheel spin instead of fine control. I know, I know, electric motors have all of their torque from zero rpm... and it's not enough. Take an offroad buggy and look...

The roof looks quite ergonomic to hold. I might take the wheels off, mount sandpaper to the bottom and use it as a stylish sanding block...

Air Suspension vs. Coils - Long Term Durability vs. Real Capability

Definitely standard springs/shocks, though I expect front and rear coils with no leaf springs. If I want to add air bags later, I can, but I'll modify the suspension regardless to my preferred shock valving and spring rates. A simple SLA suspension up front and 4-link with panhard bar in the...
