  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

The whole idea of self-driving seems to be against the message of what Scout is promoting currently. Get away from the tech, the spaceship, whatever, enjoy the drive, feel the vehicle underneath you, embrace the traditional American road trip. Scott Keogh's Rolling Stone article was very...

    Road to R&R

Use the Scout for charging my tools, and use my tools to build a shelter from the land and surrounding trees. Almost as quick as popping up a tent, but if it's not, I'll just use my existing tent in the meantime. I could care less about partnerships or shared branding of an audio system...

    20-24 mpg

I do wonder how rough that math was... "It'll be close enough, we can enlarge the tank after testing if it falls short" :ROFLMAO:

    20-24 mpg

I prefer "modular power source", but ultimately, whether the engine powers the wheels directly or runs a generator charging a battery, the result is the same in the eyes of the average driver. How many miles are you going on a gallon of fuel? Edit: Yes, I know that the engine won't power the...

Poll: What Tires Do You Want To See On Your Scout?

More on point for the thread, definitely no all-terrains for me, only mud tires. I've tried a number of ATs, but they all suck for my use (BFGs, Nittos and Mickeys). The mud tires give me the traction I need off-road, and with the typically softer tread compound, give me better cornering...

Poll: What Tires Do You Want To See On Your Scout?

More seriously though, for a better comparison: Stock TRD on 33" tires: TRD on 35" tires with some trimming of plastics:

Poll: What Tires Do You Want To See On Your Scout?

Okay, the stock Dunlop on the newest 4Runner is 31.7" according to TireRack. The forums are saying a 33" tires is the biggest you can go without modifications, so only a 1.3" overall gain, give or take. If the Scout can fit a 37" tire, and comes with a 33" tire, you're looking at enough extra...

    20-24 mpg

If I can do 95% of my driving in EV mode and still get 24mpg when gas mode is needed out of a full-size SUV on 35" tires, I'll be tickled pink.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I see the Maverick everywhere, especially with tradesman, so the idea has potential with a small hybrid powertrain. A small truck with 40mpg definitely has appeal around here (not to me personally though).

    R2 Launch Watch

Good call on the ocean coast, I forgot the name and just saw the graphic. Close enough, haha. It's been a number of years since my early R1S preorder.

Heck, the new Tacoma is bigger than the F-150 was in the not-so-distant past. They used to offer a 2wd version that was notably smaller/cheaper than the big boy version, but that's gone by the wayside.

    R2 Launch Watch

Three, with different color wood accents. Whitish gray, greenish and black, though a couple combos were delayed initially.

Seriously. Honda: "Hey, if we make a fastback SUV/hatchback and call it a sedan, people will buy it." Don't get me wrong, I kinda like the front, and I kinda like the back, but not on the same vehicle. Now, if you lifted this a few inches and gave it some all-terrain tires, I could buy in on...

You can judge a Scout by its color

Completely unrelated, but your post sparked an idea that never occurred to me. Is Scout going to pursue fleet truck sales? They're in a great position to do it with the Terra.

Calling that a sedan is a huge stretch of the imagination. New generation Crosstour perhaps, but not a sedan.

Include a Monroney Sticker and Build Sheet

If they're doing a database, it's also really cool as an owner knowing how many other vehicles are like yours. The manufacturer of my current car sent me a build sheet for my car, noting it was #43 of 50 built in that configuration. Then it goes on to list all of the option codes for the VIN...

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

The AI bubble is a concern for me. When it crashes, I'll likely go into extra-conservative mode with the money, just in case, which means no Scout purchase.

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

I used to get a different car every six months or so, but I'm now 10 years sober with the same daily driver. It's tough, I love my vehicles and haven't seen anything else out there that I want, but they're aging, and I know I'll need to replace at least one in the coming years. I'm just hoping...

Will the Scout EREV be obsolete by the time it gets here in 2027/28?

I highly doubt any OEM would put a 900-mile range battery in an EV around here for the same reason most cars don't have 30+ gallon gas tanks. Ultimately, they'll just downsize the battery to a more normal 300-400 mile range.
