  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

YES, please. And, we all know what makes a vehicle self driving - sensors, on high powered on board computers, and electronic systems. Why can't we have both? For those that don't want it, they get a basic computer, with minimal sensors and it costs less. If I want the moon, then I must pay...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

R1TVT - I know drive in theaters are a dying breed but we still have one and it's very popular. The major problem is most modern vehicles won't allow true "accessory mode" like "back in the day" when you turned the key backward. Scout could FIX that, assume we're not numbskulls, and allow us...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

cyure - My wife's Nissan (and I suspect all vehicles) is a set of rollers that push and move around on your back. There's different settings for how much pressure, what patterns you want it to do. I turned it on, forgot about it, it operated for 30 minutes on it's own and then shutdown. Then...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I agree with the massaging seats. My wife just got a 26 Nissan Murano and I thought this is unnecessary - until I used it - then I thought, why haven't we had this for the last 25 years? I get that Scout wants to create this counter culture electric truck but don't lean into it so hard that we...

    Class V hitch option?

I'm guessing the answer will be no, it's a 1/2 ton truck and it's gonna tow about 10K. I recall seeing Class V hitches are 3/4 ton and 1-ton category trucks. That aside, on the right truck, I would not hesitate to load your motorcycle on that carrier on a Class V hitch and happy hauling.

5klbs towing cap with gas range extender?

I'm sad to report, out of necessity, I am short term renting a 2026 Toyota Camry. I've noticed the dash has toggle switches. Does this mean other manufacturers have begun incorporating what was going to be one of Scout's most appealing features? I know imitation is the sincerest form of...

June 2026 Scout Production Center Update

I appreciate all the encouragement, and for now I'm keeping my reservation. I think some people may have missed the point I was trying to make. My concern isn't that I need a truck tomorrow. Here's my concern... Let's say the Traveler EREV starts shipping in 2028 as planned. It's a huge...

June 2026 Scout Production Center Update

Maybe I should start a new thread, but I'll post this here instead. Am I the only one who's seriously thinking about canceling? I'm already in the double-minority camp by wanting the Terra EV. It's a great-looking truck, and Scout Motors definitely tugged at my heartstrings. That's why I...

    Center Screen

After searching the forums, I haven't been able to find any official specifications for the dash tray that's shown so prominently in the photos. Many people refer to it as a laptop tray, while others describe it as a place for snacks or lunch. I think that's an important distinction that...

    BEV Delay

It seems like the story is getting repeated over and over and I don't know why. Disheartening, while yes, the Terra BEV has the lowest reservation rate, isn't it feasibly the easiest vehicle to build and get out the door first? I mean while you are working on all those other problems I'm...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I think they nailed it with the current production headlights. Not interested in round. I would be interested in a dedicated owner citation when I take ownership, perhaps thanking me for patiently waiting 1159 days from date of reservation to date of proud ownership. :p

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

Love the ad @LastDayScout , exactly what SM should be doing in my opinion but it might only rankle up those "put a real motor in it and I'll buy one" folks. And in one regard, I sympathize with @J Alynn being an early reservation holder, I feel like this is a "newer" marketing technique that is...

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

It appears I'm going to be in the minority within the minority. EV Terra all the way. CEO says in a recent MotorTrend article that 80% of reservation holders are EREV's and somewhere else I saw the majority of reservation holders want the Traveler SUV. Everyone has to decide what is important...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

Just because I like random information - I looked up the debut of the TRD Pro which was about 10 years ago, released with a starting price around $41,385. Now days starting price is $72510. That's a 75% increase in price over that time period. Not sure this changes any of the previous...

    All terrain tires

Also, this will be my first EV - I guess I will figure out range later. :p
