  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Scout Color Poll #1

It's Amazon van blue. 😂 They came out of the fair swinging on colors and have since dropped the ball a little bit. Storm blue is ok, but should have been better. Dune is just cream.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Green is popular (thankfully). I'm a bit surprised rivian blue has survived tbh, but I understand it's RJ's favorite color. Oddly I don't see a ton of silver. Lots of people paying for white paint though, lol.

    Scout Color Poll #1

The crazy thing about Limestone is there are areas I've gone where it's a good 75% of the R1 vehicles that I see. And then I'll go in areas and rarely see it.

    New Battery By 24M Technologies

Sorry to be late coming back to this. I was quite literally in the middle of a long road trip in our R1S and decided to focus on the real world ☺️ Thank you for following-up here. My initial comment was just intended to be a friendly consumer nudge from experience, and I appreciate your...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

I'm currently on a road trip through Montana with a max pack R1S. We are going to have to charge to 90% to get from Billings to Gillette to arrive with 5%. In the winter or when we head back and go into the wind (or winter+wind) that leg would require relying on a single plug 50kw charger in...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Right. So when Scout says 350 miles, my hunch is that it's with a smaller all season. And even then I'm a little dubious given the size of the Scout vehicles and being (I suspect) less aerodynamic than a Rivian. Let's take my "370 mile range" Gen2 max pack R1S which has the ATs. I can squeak...

    New Battery By 24M Technologies

Group14's material is currently being used in devices (like the Honor Magic Pro), and they have supposedly addressed the issues you noted. Obviously subject to manufacturers finding that it performs as advertised, but fingers crossed...

    New Battery By 24M Technologies

They have been putting the material for use as the anode in phones for a coupleif years. They have been building a plant in WA for large scale production in the U.S. but slowed construction this year to wait for customers apparently. Group14's website has some good info. I posted a couple of...

The gravity is a luxury SUV. The relative cost of that vehicle is not due to the pack size. Alternatively an extended range Silverado is 75k with something like a 190kwh pack.

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

"EPA rated" rated range, particularly when done with a 5 cycle test, isn't really what most people think of when they think of range unfortunately. If Scout is able to pull 350 miles of range going 70+ on the 35" KO3's somehow with 120kwh battery, that will be surprising to me. That pack size...

Man I hope so. The pack capacity for the pure EV that Scott mentioned was quite a disappointment to me.

    New Battery By 24M Technologies

I'd be happy with them getting a silicone anode cell like from Group14.

    Solid-State Battery

Even without solid state batteries, hopefully they incorporate silicon anodes from a U.S. company like Group-14.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

    1. Quick release roof rack mounts like Rivian has. 2. Heated headlights. Snow buildup is a safety hazard.

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

FWIW, I'm in Western WA with both an R1T and R1S. I get your concern, but a couple of thoughts from my experience: 1. If I'm in those conditions, I tend to charge a bit more than I would normally. For example, I have been out to ski at 49 degrees north and Silver this winter. The way back from...
