  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Personally I would generally prefer the option for both. The ability for the vehicle to adapt with changing ride height (and in the R1T's case, roll stiffness) has been great for me offroad. Being able to have it level the vehicle is a very nice feature camping too. Ironically going to a solid...

Motors, Control Arms and Ground Clearance

Yeah, I need to be able fit height-wise into parking garages. Almost always doable with the R1T, but I couldn't fit into the garage at my work with a base defender recently.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

That's good to know. I always (wrongly) thought the roadshower was plastic obviously.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I like to call these the world's most expensive PVC pipe.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yeah, their interiors are lacking, but the trucks are pretty damn solid and have range for days. That being said, as fun as the hummer is it's too damn heavy and wide for me. Which reminds me. @Jamie@ScoutMotors pleeeeease don't force piping in fake engine noise. I had a silverado EV from...

    Learnings from Rivian

I caused a ruckus last month saying I'd like more, but that's mostly because I want to see 350 miles at 70 with the 35s.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

If you're paying for the entire pack, you gotta use it! I personally change my behavior of approaching zero when my wife and dog are with me. She is a bit more anxious than me. :D

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I've carried a few adapters with me (not nearly as many as @SpaceEVDriver ) but other than the TT-30, I haven't really had a use for anything. Even then, a 120v outlet is not particularly helpful unless you don't move for a couple of days unless you're in a literal dead spot. I've considered...

    Learnings from Rivian

Oooo this is a fun one. My R1T is an early vin Gen1. It's my go get outdoors vehicle. I would like to stay with a truck, but I do not want a full sized truck. I also don't love the look of the Terra. So that leaves me with the Traveler. So I mayyy end up re-upping with an R1T, but if Scout lands...

    Learnings from Rivian

I own two Rivians and love them. That being said, a couple of suggestions to Scout based on experiences with my R1: 1. Consider what happens when shit goes wrong. Design the vehicle so that when something goes wrong, like an ADAS module dies, you can still limp along. Rear motor dies? Let the...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Tossing my name in the ring to answer any questions too. Similar to @SpaceEVDriver I've covered quite a bit of ground. From Seattle I've been out to Glacier, up to Banff, down to Bend, out to South Dakota, and up into the Sawtooths in the last year. Owner of an R1T that I use for everything from...

    Scout Color Poll #1

It's Amazon van blue. 😂 They came out of the fair swinging on colors and have since dropped the ball a little bit. Storm blue is ok, but should have been better. Dune is just cream.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Green is popular (thankfully). I'm a bit surprised rivian blue has survived tbh, but I understand it's RJ's favorite color. Oddly I don't see a ton of silver. Lots of people paying for white paint though, lol.

    Scout Color Poll #1

The crazy thing about Limestone is there are areas I've gone where it's a good 75% of the R1 vehicles that I see. And then I'll go in areas and rarely see it.

    New Battery By 24M Technologies

Sorry to be late coming back to this. I was quite literally in the middle of a long road trip in our R1S and decided to focus on the real world ☺️ Thank you for following-up here. My initial comment was just intended to be a friendly consumer nudge from experience, and I appreciate your...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

I'm currently on a road trip through Montana with a max pack R1S. We are going to have to charge to 90% to get from Billings to Gillette to arrive with 5%. In the winter or when we head back and go into the wind (or winter+wind) that leg would require relying on a single plug 50kw charger in...

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Right. So when Scout says 350 miles, my hunch is that it's with a smaller all season. And even then I'm a little dubious given the size of the Scout vehicles and being (I suspect) less aerodynamic than a Rivian. Let's take my "370 mile range" Gen2 max pack R1S which has the ATs. I can squeak...

    New Battery By 24M Technologies

Group14's material is currently being used in devices (like the Honor Magic Pro), and they have supposedly addressed the issues you noted. Obviously subject to manufacturers finding that it performs as advertised, but fingers crossed...
