  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Harvester towing

Yes of course I wouldn’t expect that 500mile range towing either. I just hope they give the harvester model sufficient power as I fear that it might be possibly underpowered. Now that I think of it however, 4.1m/kwh might be pushing it on a vehicle that size will probably be closer to getting 2...

    Harvester towing

From the information they’ve provided and what they want to achieve you can make slight assumptions. If they want 150miles from the battery pack and 350miles from the generator then you can assume they would only need 23mpg from the gas generator, which is reasonable considering how heavy they...

    Harvester towing

Well I think the tow rating being lower on the harvester model can be one of two things or maybe both… So if we use one of tesla’s as an example… their battery packs are not just a single large battery, its multiple battery modules wired together in series. So each module for example is like...

    Traveler without rear tire carrier

Would be cool to see an option to mount a few gas cans instead of the spare or couple of gas cans in addition to the spare for the harvester model.

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

Good to know. I did those co2 calculations with Maine, which gets a most most of it power from natural gas, hydro and wind power (in that order). Only a small margin comes from solar, which is mind boggling considering how many damn solar fields we have all over the place. I feel like when we...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

Isn’t most of the us grid natural gas as far as fossil fuels go? I don’t think there are many people charging solely with solar, given the massive investment needed. Does anyone know where both ev and gas/diesel start in terms of co2 output before you buy it off the lot? I’ve calculated it with...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I don’t hate them. I just like things that make cool sounds :). That doesn’t mean I’m not rooting for something more efficient.

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I think the earlier estimates included new lithium production. I know tesla recycles their batteries. So that’s could be why it’s better now

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I’m one of those weirdos who likes the smell of two stroke, so emissions less diesels don’t bother me. I will say that a gas vehicle without a cat or high flow cats I cannot stand.

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

I started this thread because I didn’t search “diesel” in the search tab. Completely my fault. You can’t delete threads however. That being said everyone who replied drove the conversation in this direction I’m just replying lol. Anyways, bye.

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

@J Alynn Is it not true lol? I think it’s important to bring up the fact the government had it’s part in ev sales in the US with incentives. Tell me would you have paid full price for an ev? It doesn’t matter who you side with those are the facts. I do HVAC so you have no idea how many heat...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

Are we talking with or without emissions equipment? I think with emissions equipment is worse cause it just smells like ammonia from the def fluid

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

You could never run this country off of solar and wind. It’s solely supplemental. Just like a heat pump in the northeast supplemental heat. The entire coast and country would be completely covered. I’m sure nature would love that! Plus solar fields have been shown to increase the temperature...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

Are you going by how many were built or how many consumers bought? Ev saled increased because of government incentives to buy them. At GM they have to sell so many evs before they can even build a diesel hd truck, which that and yukons are their best selling product. That goes fpr any of the big...
