  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Vintage Scout Commercials/Ads

They don’t care much around here. I’ve been in a line of cars passing a sheriff while going 80 in a 65. Although the paintball gun might get their attention, true. We have a person here in Durham that is Reddit famous as a bad driver. Look up JESUSDOS or STAYUMBL on Reddit and make some popcorn.

having one modified for paintballs is a dream of mine so I could tag all the bad drivers so people would know who to watch for (like the guy yesterday who ran his red-light to turn right in front of me and then stopped because he wanted to go all the way across the three lanes to turn left at...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I'm at about 70 miles a day for work and back and then add in a few trips to see family that range about 200-400 miles each. I think the highest I saw on the leases was 10k miles/year which I would zoom past pretty quickly. I don't know what happens if you go over, but I assume it's not cheap. I...

    Default volume setting?

After scaring myself silly once again this morning, I would like to suggest that the stereo has a programmable default volume so that when I am rocking out on the way home and forget to turn the volume down before turning the car off, I don't get a very sudden awakening when I start the car the...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Thanks for all the lease info! I am going to keep an eye on this as my car mileage ticks higher and higher. Unfortunately I drive too many miles for a lease I think (usually at least 20k a year), but it gives me something to think about.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I thought this was an interesting article about the Slates. Still don't want one, but it was neat to hear more about how they planned it out. https://sherwood.news/tech/slate-auto-ceo-chris-barman-tells-us-how-exactly-its-making-a-usd25-000-ev/

    Scout Color Poll #1

Rivian got rid of all their bright colors apparently

How would you build your Scout?

I adore those graphics! I hope they have multiple styles of stripes because those are amazing - great colors too!

winch, stairs/sliders, wheel in the front trunk, mobile sunroof

My guess is they didn’t market it much and they didn’t market it well. Every ad I saw for it tried to peg it as a party machine complete with color changing light strips inside. Should have been the cool minivan alternative. It’s basically a station wagon in an SUV disguise.

I bought my 2010 Ford Flex with 25 miles on it (including my test drive) and it now has 283k miles and I love it still - some Fords are good! Best car I've ever had (haven't had that many though - I tend to run them to the ground). I am going to have a hard time giving it up for sure.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I'll be the designated driver in the ridiculous color combo (with no chrome) to make sure everyone gets home ok

I was closing some of my 499 open tabs on my phone and found this. I still love it honestly. Wanted to share it in case anyone hadn’t seen it https://mashable.com/article/ford-electric-truck-pickup-vintage

    Driver Legroom

the more adjustable it is, the better. My husband and I are the same height but my arms and legs are much longer than his. Anytime he drives my car, I get in and that steering wheel is way too close to me. Having two memory buttons for the driver's seat settings is wonderful.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

    283k miles and counting!
