  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Suggestions

Figured the shark fin was XM only, but apparently they are putting other stuff in it. My Golf is old enough to not have one - don't think our 2018 Jeep does either, or my 2017 F250.

    Special/First Edition Scouts

I guess you could look at what VW has done with the US IDBuzz. Late, overpriced, missed performance numbers, and is selling with a significant dealer markup. But honestly, how many will sell after the initial adopters?

    Suggestions

Have had demo subscriptions. Guess IF I used it much maybe - but subscriptions to other services are not tied to individual devices. Probably 90% of my vehicle time is probably using Audable (which probably costs me a LOT more than XM-without the subscription and volume pricing, I kill a $25...

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Retired CPA (worked about 26 years in the field). In addition to a tax specialization, I did a lot of system admin work for our firm (at least before the powers that be decided any high school dropout could do system admin). Small rancher at the moment.

    3rd Row Option!

Given time, if the first 2 models are successful - I can easily see them doing a 3rd row SUV and a mid sized vehicle. I think a 3rd row would be fairly easy, given the truck already has the additional wheelbase necessary - and with no change in width their should not be any issues with fitting...

Solar-Ready package (especially for the Traveler)

I guess I missed your point some. An EV already has a battery system that dwarfs most portable battery systems - I personally would rather be able to boost that system, and draw from it that have a second independent system. I have used a small solar system on a roof rack before for camping -...

Entry Model Specs, Premium Model Price?

60k is a bit high for a stripped vehicle with a sub-sized battery and 1/2 a motor system. Maybe keep some of the luxury add ons as upgrades, but 60k for the offroad version with a full sized battery system is a much better price point - let it compete with other off road oriented vehicles. If...

Solar-Ready package (especially for the Traveler)

While there may be times an integrated solar system might be useful - I fear most of the time it lacks cost benefit. If you look at available roof space - it is doubtful that a system larger than 1200 watts would fit. Most of the US probably averages less than 5hr of effective solar...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Scout has been working on their product for several years, with the backing of one of the worlds largest vehicle group. We might have reservations that Scout will hit their production timeline - but I seriously doubt Slate will have a vehicle for sale anytime soon. Still waiting on the Apple...

    Delivery date

Sadly, I will be probably counting days starting with 2026... Saw an article bashing the Cybertruck's resale prices - started thinking, Cybertruck for the next 3 years. But the article was a bash piece with no real honesty.

    Camping with a Traveler/Terra

I kind of like the idea of the Moonlander - but not really the implementation. Looking more at the Traveler. Will build a sleeping platform for it-should have plenty of room to sleep inside. The Moonlander gets around the abbreviated bed length. But IF I ever do another overlanding pickup -...

    Scout Deal Breakers

For me it is following through, not bait and switch. 350 mile range, near intended price, 50 states vehicle. And a decent driver assist package I guess-it's not the 1970's anymore.

Future Model: Scout Sport- Smaller, and more efficient, but still capable.

Original jeep was 55" wide with an 85" wheelbase. I think that is smaller than a Mini Cooper.

    Rivian Rs2 vs Scout Traveler

Rivian is slightly shorter, slightly narrower, and significantly shorter. But it has Rivian DNA in it's headlights-hard pass. I was going to say it looked more like a crossover than an SUV, but then looked at the R3-which is completely crossover.
